I'm a fan. Everyone should buy My Life, this album is incredible.
-
God knows I'm fondly fond of this album!!! There's not any other one like it.

the French little bear doesn't know what "feisty" means (it's not in his little english/french dictionary) have been playing: Greg Ashley: Painted Garden Paula Frazer & Tarnation: Now It's Time both very good

I do what I want, as far as I'm concerned. Any problem with that?

Kristin Hersh ~ Learn to Sing like a Star The Queen of indie rock. Not PJ Harvey, not Cat Power. Kristin Hersh.

Check it out - Devon Sproule is a wonderful talent

This used to be a longtime favorite Beatles album of mine. Along with Beatles For Sale. Many people say both are minor in the Beatles discography, but they're wrong.

I totally agree with what Tweedy said (as quoted above), but I don't hear anything wrong about Bennett saying he thinks "California Stars" is the best thing he did.
-
I've tried to listen to I'm Wide Awake several times, and just find it terrible.
-
well, it's the "ornamentation" that makes the song to me. Just these harmonies and the way they're done instrumentally. And Jeff's voice. I'm not even sure any other voice would make it.

To find simple and addictive chords like these must be the dream of every musician. As every metal band tries to find the killer riff that is "You Really Got Me". It's not easy at all!
-
Right. It's also "My Darling".
-
THAT'S my favorite album of 2007 so far: Check it out! especially if you love Tweedy's music (and Elliott Smith and Chris Bell...), which may be the case for most of you...
-
I tend to agree with Jay Bennett about "California Stars".
-
"oh happy day..." (weird album cover, but still better than the blue US one!)
-
David Mead ~ Tangerine
-
One of my favorite records from 2006. Beautiful cover art.
-
Karine Polwart ~ Scribbled in Chalk What a great record!
-
Destroyer ~ This Night

I may agree (The Real Deal, for example, is rather mediocre for a BJ Shaver record), but will make an exception of the immediate follow up to Earth Rolls On (on which Eddy plays all over, as sessions were recorded before his death on 2000's new year's eve), which is called Freedom's Child (2002) and is, to me, one of the very best records of his discography (and the first without his son in years). Will Kimbrough plays on this one (along with great other players I've never heard of).

The Knife ~ Silent Shout
