If you get in touch with analogman or owlandbear.com they may be able to put it up on the Wilco archive.

I always thought it was funny that for all the bickering and desire to hear all the rarities, anytime you look at the top requests for a show they're always songs like Misunderstood, California Stars, At Least That's What You Said, and other songs that typically get lumped in with the "we hear them too much" crowd. Maybe the people who are asking for a variety are just a more vocal minority. We do have to take into account that being an album release tour, W(TA) songs are inevitably going to take up slots, I guess I'd just prefer 3-4 of the old standards as opposed to 6-7 standards. With

I'm willing to guess, and actually hope, that Jeff doesn't quite have 1,000,000 things he'd rather do than play rock'n'roll. Maybe 30-40 things, but 1,000,000 is a lot of things to prefer to do rather than something so incredible. He is, after all, rather good at it and seems to enjoy doing it; besides, I don't think you can argue that we don't appreciate him. Not one person who's said anything about the setlists has said anything bad about the music they hear, just that they'd like to hear more or Jeff and Wilco's work. Is that really such a bad critique of a band?

I don't think anyone's saying the shows & songs of choice aren't terrific. But if they tacked on another 8-10 songs to their repertoire for the tour to rotate more frequently then they would probably please all of the people you described, who had only heard a few songs, as well as the boardies. We're not asking for Cars Can't Escape, Laminated Cat, Panther, or cover songs or anything every night but Wilco is a band who has a decent chunk of its fanbase going to multiple shows.

Google Plans to Launch Operating System

I'm really interested to see what they do with this. With the obvious focus on web apps, I think the most important thing for Google to do is make switching between online/offline applications and/or storage completely seamless, if not invisible to the end users. That, and i'm interested to see if it's based on any current linux distributions, which package formats it will support, and its interoperability with current linux applications. -
I agree, it does seem that he's getting mildly less full of himself. I think the original poster may have misled you, they didn't do an encore. The last song was just the keyboardist & conor so the rest of the band just left the stage before it. And in regards to the rain, it didn't really start until Hummingbird, but I was absolutely shocked when they came out for the encore. Like you said, being electrocuted would be on my mind for every note of the song, especially for Nels or Jeff who were right out in front the whole time. They really gave us a great time.

I agree with you. Of course it would've been great to hear more songs, and Magazine would've been exceptional, but other than that the rest of the encores were fairly common while seeing ITMWLY in the pouring rain is a pretty awesome experience.

You're right, I knew the setlist looked short. I don't get why people have such a strong disdain for him. I could see the music just not being your thing, but it seems like people just enjoy hating Conor Oberst because he was a little whiny for a couple records.

I believe this was Conor's whole setlist, the song w/ him & Nate was Lenders in the Temple: Moab Spoiled Eagle on a Pole Danny Callahan NYC-Gone, Gone Ten Women Cape Canaveral Get Well Cards WorldWide I Got a Reason #2 I Don't Wanna Die in the Hospital Lenders in the Temple

Really? It could've been that he didn't "know the rain was coming", I don't think everyone's a weatherman. it could've been they thought the rain was going to start after the show, it could've been that Wilco decided with them to do the show as normal, would that be another reason to dislike Wilco? Have a problem with Conor's attitude, or drinking, or just don't vibe with his songs, but don't be mad that he's not a meteorologist. Anyway, I thought the whole show was pretty great and the rain-out gave it a certain uniqueness. I would've been disappointed if the show got cut off 5-6 songs

That's kinda disrespectful to him and his band.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I'd expected he'd play based on his show at Toads Place last Friday.

Does anyone know any of the songs Conor did & how long he played for? I was curious what his sets were going to look like.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,529328,00.html DEVELOPING: Television pitchman Billy Mays — who built his fame by appearing on commercials and infomercials promoting household products and gadgets — died Sunday, FOX News confirms. Mays was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department. Police said there were no signs of forced entry to May's residence and foul play is not suspected. Authorities said an autopsy should be complete by Monday afternoon.

It's one thing to have guests who are already at the festival come out together, but it always throws you for a loop when someone random comes out. In '06 Tom Petty brought out Stevie Nicks and that was ridiculous to me.

Wow, we always kept our cell phones charged at Roo. We had multiple car chargers hooked up & would just charge them in the morning while making breakfast. It would suck being there trying to figure out who everyone's seeing and where they are without them.

Monsters of Folk (James, Oberst & Ward)

This is going to be so great. The only song I recognized from the tracklist is Man Named Truth, has anyone heard of any of the other tracks? -

Hmm, the domain's owned by Micah Taylor, out of Minneapolis, and was created four years ago. I'm a little skeptical after seeing that, but we'll see. -

They all played together one of the times I saw Conor, and I'll just say that him dueting with M. Ward on Helicopter was freakin awesome. I can't wait to hear this album. -
Old Crow Medicine Show - David Rawlings Machine

I saw OCMS at the Newport Folk Festival several years ago, and after I saw them walk on stage looking like they just came out of some cotton field I immediately fell in love with their style. They are a pretty great band to catch live and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who could see them. After you listen to the self-titled I would recommend Big Iron World.
