  1. I consider myself to be a hardcore Neil Young fan, and I think the whole fucking thing is absurd. The guy is a tech geek/snob. This archive thing has been floating around about a decade now. I'm sure he has a sense for what his fans want, but he doesn't really care. He thinks he's going to be a trailblazer with this blue-ray nonsense and if he alienates some fans along the way, what skin is it off his back? This whole concept of "not putting his name on the technology that's out there" bullshit is crazy. The mediums upon which music is distributed is what it is and has been for decades.
  2. I don't need to listen to it to figure that out. Just look at that fucking cover.
  3. At this stage, he deserves to have the DVD's ripped to FLAC and widely distributed illegally. It's that simple.
  4. Bruce's Devils & Dust I've done both as well as Neil's Massey Hall.
  5. Man did TP knock it out of the ballpark.
  6. I'm far from an audiophile, and I can definitely hear the difference.
  7. He's playing in my neck of the woods tomorrow, but due to family obligations, I will not be able to attend. I'm pretty steamed about this because I haven't seen him live. He sounds pretty fucking amazing on the live album Live in Aught-Three.
  8. Who said the modern-day protest singer was dead?
  9. Further supported by the fact several of the BITUSA tracks are on various Nebraska Demos collections.
  10. I posted something to that effect on one of the many "shit on Bruce Springsteen without having a clue as to what he's about" threads that pop up around these parts. They wanted to make a record that captured the sound of the time - Thriller, Cyndi Lauper, Insert 80's MTV Darling with a Bruce twist. Some great, though-provoking, dark lyrics set to some less-than-desirable music. I guess it's only appropriate that the video for "Dancing in the Dark" launched Courtney Cox's career.
