  1. David Lee Roth in Runnng With the Devil!
  2. Isn't Courtney Love's dad's name Hank Greenberg? /not contributing anything of substance to the conversation
  3. The mere fact this thread is still going is proof enough for me that there is no God! (Seriously though, I'm glad to see that the conversation is a bit more civil today. It's great to see this sort of intelligent dialogue and makes me wonder why, if an Internet message board can do it, why can't we do it on a national stage.)
  4. I don't believe in God and I don't feel that way at all.
  5. I heard a radio ad for McBain/Palin yesterday that focused on the ticket's support for stem cell research. That was refreshing. Actually advertising a position that is unpopular with the Evangelical right and an ad talking about policy instead of attacks! Kudos... I'll give you credit when you do good, Johnny Boy!
  6. Menomena - Friend and Foe I love this album!
  7. Nice win for CU last night and the black out was actually pretty cool. The Buffs have been down for a while and this was a big win to get things back on the right track. They looked great early and came way back down to earth but the fact they held on (despite the fact that WVA should have won the game with proper clock management) will be something the team can build on. FSU in Tallahassee will be tough, but Cody will be here for another few years and Stewart looks like he could develop into a stud. I'm hopeful that despite a very tough schedule CU can finish in the top 25, win a good bowl ga
  8. Pot meet kettle. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a football game to prepare for. Dawkins! I hope we win!
  9. JUDE = TheMaker? Huh, now it all makes sense. There is a design to the universe!
  10. I'm going to assume that my posts draw no comment because they are so right on the money that they require neither response nor affirmation.
  11. Immortal soul hurled into the Lake of Fire or "Reckless" on repeat? I'll take my chances with my own playlist. But the point is so long as those people that might prefer I not take my chances respect my belief I have no reason to not respect theirs.
  12. You know what I find interesting is I don't understand why someone would get so worked up due to the absence of a belief. It's not the belief that angers me anymore than someone believing ... oh I don't know ... that Bryan Adam's "Reckless" is a worthy album. It is only when someone insists that I listen listen to said album all the time despite my lack of this belief. That's not frustration or anger with the belief, it is frustration and anger over the actions of the believer.
  13. Yes, see my myriad of posts in this very thread. It is not the belief in God that I have a problem with (although intellectually I find it difficult to comprehend just as I'm sure those of faith find my lack of faith difficult to comprehend), but the disregard of the tyranny of the majority that many seem to have.
  14. When I was just out of college (and couldn't find a real job at the end of HW Bush's term), I took a temp job making these political calls. I'll tell you, these surveys were ALL incredibly leading. The funny thing is, it really was the lowest common denominator that would take the 20 minutes to respond. One guy from Montana -- despite the fact that the survey was obviously from a conservative group (questions like, I shit you not, "Do you want the Democrats to take away your right to bear arms?") -- continued to call me a liberal hippie. Finally i got frustrated and said "look you don't have t
  15. Personally i think that attitude doesn't help and you paint all atheists with a single brush stroke just as you criticize TheMaker for doing. I know I have no crisis of faith.
  16. Because religion can be divisive and I will stand up for what I don't believe in when others foist their beliefs on me (see Phelps, Dobson, Palin, et al) just as I have stood up to decry the divisiveness of those that foist their atheism on others (as I have in this thread).
  17. I think I may have mentioned this once before on this site, but my fiance and I were thinking of using Drake's "Pink Moon" for our wedding as the first dance with our folks. It seemed like a good choice because it is short and has no specific sexual references. But ....that was when we thought the "pink moon" was allegory for love. The a friend told us it is meant to represent the apocalypse. Ha! I guess I can see it in the lyrics now knowing that and knowing Drake's history of depression. Can anyone confirm or refute that? Might not be the best song to kick off a marriage if that's the case!
  18. Well I skimmed the last few pages, but don't see any response to my question of why TheMaker insists on painting the entire god-fearing population with a single brush stroke. There are many scientists, etc. that still hold belief in a higher power, don't let it effect their work and so on. As long as someone isn't telling you what to believe, why does it matter? Again, you seem to see "moderate" religious people as a bad thing. You may not agree with their beliefs 100%, but who does? They are not Fred Phelps and that's a good thing! I'd like to see more people of faith stand up and denounce Fr
