  1. A stranger goes to a doctor complaining of depression. The doctor tries to cheer him up and recommends going to the circus, as Zeppo, the funniest clown in the world, is in town. The stranger answers "Doctor, I am Zeppo, the funniest clown in the world".
  2. Terrible tragedy. Someone close to me suffers from depression and it's a horrible disease. Many people receive treatment and live a halfway normal life, others aren't so fortunate.. Either way, the world has lost another pure talent who touched so many lives. I hope his spirit has found peace..
  3. I really like Embryonic. One of my favorite albums. I don't care for much of their other stuff. Some good tunes on Bulletin and Yoshimi, but Embryonic is my favorite.
  4. Exactly, the dude is a rock star that's been on the scene for nearly 30 years... He's not Bieber.
  5. Because I was watching it last night for the first time in years.. I can't be the only one that has pondered this... There's just something hot about a bounty hunter chick that could kick my ass... But yeah, the whole reptilian changeling thing could be a deal breaker..
  6. I have a crush on the shape-shifting bounty hunter from Attack of The Clones, Zam Wessell (RIP). However I'd be scared of her changing into the reptilian creature, mid-coitus..
  7. Despite the small shows, I think Cracker has by far held out the best out of the three. They still tour regularly and release legitimate material. The Spin Doctors have been very spotty since their debut album (one could even say they were one hit wonders)... A lot of that could be attributed to the singers health issues though. And the Gin Blossoms are pretty much a novelty these days.
  8. Same here. They were clearly the most entertaining act of the three. The show was in a huge arena.. Crazy how I saw Cracker about 10 years later in a small club for about 30 people.
  9. Nice. I'm sure you heard a lot of gems from Trompe le Monde..
  10. I saw the Spin Doctors with Cracker and Gin Blossoms. It was an early 90's pop rock wet dream.
  11. Thanks GtrPlyr. It's nice having at least one musician in the band that will always be reliable. She's sort of my John Stirrat. PopTodd - I checked out your tunes last night. I always go back to that "Here" song. Love that tune, so catchy. It really could be in a car commercial or something. Also checked out the acoustic songs, nice work. I can definitely sense some UT influence in your writing and vocal style. I'll listen more this weekend.
  12. Thanks for listening and the feedback! I'm on lead vocals, guitars, drums, sequencing, effects etc. My wife did the bass on all songs, and the backing vocals on Greatest Lie.
  13. Awesome, thanks for the feedback, PT. Our "fanbase" has dropped off a lot in recent years. That's what happens when you get married and start having a million kids. But it's always good to know someone digs our stuff. Yeah, I have a bedroom in my house converted to a studio. It's a work in progress but I've been happy with the production too. Thanks again man, and I'm looking forward to giving your tunes a listen this evening.
  14. Well did you have a listen? What'd you think? I'm going to checkout your new stuff too when I get home. I would now, but some dick stole my headphones from my desk.
  15. Nirvana is probably the big one for me. I used to be an obsessed Nirvana fan in the 90's. I'm talking shirts, posters, bootlegs (full-on Wilco Me style obsession), and now I can barely stand to listen to a single song... Although their unplugged, especially the tunes with the Meat Puppets, is still awesome (just listened the other day).
  16. My band has released three new songs for the first time since 2010. They are part of a Deluxe Edition for our most recent album. Check em out if you want. Feedback would be appreciated. https://soundcloud.com/socalledstar/sets/yesterdays-heroes-deluxe Note "Soldier On" is definitely our most experimental song, and may scare you a bit.. lol And yes, the cicada's in "Greatest Lie" are real and were recorded outside the studio window.
  17. It's interesting how 99% of my time spent at work is devoted to providing evidence to clients that the problem they brought to my attention is not my problem.
  18. Still glad I got to see them on their farewell tour in 96. They only played about 30 minutes, never stopping for more than a few seconds in between songs. It was awesome.
