  1. Lady A might be pop country, but they sure can sang... (and I'm not being sarcastic.. they really are incredibly gifted vocalists)
  2. Even though I'm a fan, this is actually a pretty accurate statement.
  3. I had that same problem until I got it on vinyl. It was like rediscovering it all over again.
  4. Not to make light of the situation, and vibes are being sent your way... But I couldn't help but think of this when I read your post:
  5. I saw Watt open for Frank Black and The Catholics in 02 or 03. Small place in LA. It is still the only show I have attended where the bass was the loudest instrument. My ears rang for a week..
  6. Love this tuner. I've had it for 4 or 5 years and it hasn't let me down. I've used it at several outdoor gigs and it was never a problem.
  7. Cool, I'll have to check out that tune later when I have audio. Yeah, stoked to finally be seeing Patty. It's a great venue too, smaller place (Neighborhood theatre in Charlotte). She's one of my all time favorite female vocalists, and a hell of a songwriter.
  8. They were a fun band when I was 15. I was a pretty big fan in the early 90's. But yeah now, they are unlistenable..
  9. I'll be seeing him open for Patty Griffin next month. I have heard just a taste of his music and it was a little too Brian Setzer or something, for me.. How was his show?
  10. This is the winner. Everywhere I go I hear this band.. Everyone I talk to is crazy about them. "Have you heard Mumford and Sons? Do you like Mumford and Sons? For the love of God listen to them! Fuck!"
  11. He hasn't toured much in the South at all in years. He hasn't been back to Asheville, but that might be due to the fact there was 13 people in attendance last time he was there..
  12. Off the interwebs. Also on them. Mostly off though..
  13. Jeff Tweedy Solo - The South does exist and is open for business. MMJ - Stop sucking.. Now.. Stop it. Flaming Lips - Embryonic was a masterpiece, but The Terror was trying too hard to stay weird.. There comes a point when being weird just for the sake of being weird becomes irritating... Band Of Horses - Stop trying to be The Eagles. What happened to the edgy, grungy, BOH of your first two albums.. ? And oh yeah, Avett Brothers - Fuck you. That is all.
  14. What does my man JT have against the deep Souff..
  15. Going to try and catch Patty Griffin in Charlotte in June. That'll probably be it for me for the year... The last couple shows I have been to have sort of turned me off from concerts. Tired of trying to watch the show over/around the cell phones. Tired of dealing with the inconsiderate, "every man for himself" attitude. Maybe I'm getting older and less tolerant, but it just seems like the douchebag level has been rising higher and higher over the last few years..
  16. If his name is John, he should go by "Johnny One Nut" from now on. In fact, he should go by that even if his name is Harold.. Or Steve..
  17. Damn you! Where were you five years ago, asshole! You missed it! I don't know, maybe thats when I was really broke... I can't remember.. The years have all started running together since I have hit my 30's..
  18. Snow and ice everywhere! We southerners ain't used to this shit. Good thing I went on a beer run before it got too bad.
  19. Great site indeed. They don't have my first Wilco show (Greenville SC, 1997) but have several others from that tour, so almost as good.
  20. Nice, it's about time. Follow This Topic button clicked.
  21. It's always been one of my favorites, and really the Wilco sound that I love most.
