I absolutely love the song Sky Blue Sky ... I would love to hear that. And Candyfloss would be fun at the end!

Shall we make some wagers? What might the odds be for "Spiders" tonight?

See, that one goes right over my head because I never watch that show. I just can't. IMO there's just too much good talent already in the pipeline to artificially manufacture more on TV. Sorry to all you Idol lovers. It's just my humble opinion.

wilco knoxville showtime (forgive the ignorant question)

It's okay. It's pretty standard with concerts that the posted start time of a show (the time printed on your ticket) is when the opening act will begin. Opening bands usually get 30-45 minutes, then 15 minutes or so to set up the stage for the headliner band. But anything can happen. Your mileage may vary. -
Two of my friends are also combining the campus tour with a soon-to-be-in-college kid and this Wilco show Thursday night. The IU counselors are busy!!! And this place called FARM sounds wonderful. http://www.farm-bloomington.com/farmhome.html

The opening act will start at 8:00. Wilco won't start until at the earliest 8:40 (but probably more like 8:45-9:00).

Weather is lookin' good - so I'll probably be wandering around in this fashion. But hey, pick some other place to meet up if you guys want, I'm not even a beer drinker! 10:00 ... Record Store Day begins! Live music etc. 2:00 - Wilco DVD showing at Disc Exchange. 4:00 - 6:00 ... Happy Hour at Nama Sushi - inching closer to the show! 6:00 - 8:00 ... Meet up at Downtown Grill & Brewery (close to venue, lots o beers, food, has Sleepymonkey's seal of approval! ) 8:00 ... TENNESSEE THEATRE - A Hawk and A Hacksaw and then Wilco! 11:?? ... Hey, welcome to the board! I'll refer you to this thread in the "Just A Fan" section where we're talking about A Hawk and A Hacksaw, the opening band for this leg of the tour. I posted some videos and links to music. You can post there if you have more questions about the opening band, and just to keep all similar info in one place, I'll lock this thread. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=38826 Oh - there's also some talk about them here: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...t&p=1309624 Enjoy the show!

I saw them on Friday night as well. here's a thread about the opening act: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=38826 For the life of me, I couldn't figure out the time measure on most of the songs. My poor foot tried to tap, but it got so confused it quit trying. No guitars - the only stringed instrument was the violin. Yes, it is mostly instrumental (horn, tuba?) and a lot of accordion and violin, and a lot of notes, fast and furious! There is a sort of tense and eerie mood given off by this genre IMO. I caved. A Wilco show with Kim and her kick-ass 2nd row ticket were too great of a temptation !?! So, yeah, I can always sleep later.

The Wilco Store has a "help" section ... and here's your answer:
