This year October gives us a great Halloween weekend ... Friday/30th and Saturday/31st ... I would love to see a big Wilco Halloween party again!!!
-
Happy Birthday Mr. Rain! I hope you got this on Record Store Day Saturday ... did you?
-
Thanks for writing this post. I agree with you totally, and I am very happy to have this video document of Wilco's current live performance. Now I have to get going with the downloads.
-
Jeez Vince! Way to go!!! Amazing really - I would have never bet on you getting in so easily from China.
-
They must just have scattered single seats left, no pairs.
-
Yeah, that's the way it's been for a long long time. I don't know if anything changed when Wilco changed to using Frontgate instead of MusicToday recently. I'm really more inclined to think it's about Wilco's increased popularity rather than the ticket agency changing. Maybe Wilco should allot more than 10%. But maybe they can't. I don't know. I'm sure it's all in the contracts.
-
I thought it was always farmed out to an agency - MusicToday. MusicToday handled the last one I saw in Cinci at the Aronoff in 2007.

At first I got row P and I'm a short person and it is just not worth the drive to be in row P, I guess I'm a seat snob (aren't we all? ) so I did try again. I also noticed that unlike Ticketmaster where you have 2 minutes to decide if you want to accept the seats and move on to the payment screen, with Frontgate you have 9 minutes which I don't know if that's good or bad for people like me who like to throw back seats and gamble on whether or not better ones will come up later.
-
No more MusicToday presales - the Wilco people switched to Frontgate from now on. So this was my first FrontGate presale with WilcoTicketing. It went smootly except for this: If you throw back seats you don't like and try for more, they log you out. You have to re-log-in to try again. Very much slows you down. This I don't like. I ended up with Orch Center, row B just off to Nels' side. Which with the pit ends up to being 9th row. Not too bad, but I sure used to do better in the past, often getting pit seats. And those days could be in the past not necessarily due to a new t

I was at the Bloomington show, and I noticed the pattern of essentially no new songs in the shows preceeding ours (and we got 0 in Bloomington and Knoxville). I think everybody really expected to hear some new songs on this tour. So I asked Jeff about this when we went through the DVD signing line at Disc Exchange in Knoxville, and he said they were touring to promote the DVD (which does not have any new songs on it), and he also said they decided to do it a little different this time and not perform the unreleased songs much until closer to the album release time. So, there ya go. At leas

I don't think too many people here would consider you crazy for wanting to see Wilco in beautiful country. Rock tourism rules!

http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=27156 I know it happened the night of our living room show with Jeff, and after he left we turned it on (it happened at 11:00 at night) but we were still very excited from having just had the party with Jeff & Susan, and I don't remember hearing it at all. But yes it was streamed in total from Wilcoworld (probably the roadcase) before release, and somebody taped the stream and ripped a transcode. So fans listened to that transcode before the actual record was released (not me, though - I'm one of those wait-for-the-real-CD/perfect-momen

Damn!!! The Venus 3! What a treat. Thanks for the extra info bebop. Too bad they couldn't have worked up a giganto band version of The Town That Lost Its Groove Supply and bring in the horns from A Hawk And A Hacksaw

sorry tray ... I met up for the first time with dcarter who had 2 tix for sale for Knoxville and we all teased him that he could be a scalper, and yes your name came up, since here you are asking for tickets again and there have been issues with you & tickets discussed publicly here in the past (that episode where you didn't pay someone for tix a very long time until she made it public by posting about it here at VC?). But you've since redeemed yourself with Maggie and that is very good news. I hope you get some tickets to the Spain shows. Apologies once again for my lingering doubt.

Do you think the wilcoworld webmaster works 3rd shift?
-
Maybe it's the album title?
-
Sorry. I took a little nap. But in mine you have the extra-added-value of seeing how it changed from what was posted in March. I think.

You are wrong about that. Glenn was born in Roselle, IL (a Chicago suburb) and went to high school in Roselle, IL. He studied percussion and attended college in KY before returning to Chicago, where he taught percussion and joined the Chicago music scene, including in particular Jim O'Rourke (a Chicago musician) who introduced him to Jeff. That's pretty "Chi' to me.

See you in Bloomington & Knoxville! and maybe Cinci!
