You know, we should do something in honor of Jay. Any ideas? I know I'll feel better if I do something. Maybe I'll donate to the organization that helps musicians without health insurance. I gotta figure out what the name of that is. Anyone?

Well, I'll post the quote since people have trouble seeing it on the newly designed homepage. On my work computer with an old version of IE, it doesn't show up. On this newer PC, it does.

Has it been determined for sure that he had the surgery? It seems it was mentioned, and then nobody mentioned it again. Sort of unclear. I could have missed it, though, this thread is moving pretty fast.

That's so true. Thanks for that thought right now. It made me smile when I really needed to.

No it's really not. I agree. We'll let this topic pass until further notice. Thank you.

At VC, if you are the person who starts a thread, you have the ability to lock it yourself whenever you want it closed. I'm not sure where on your screen you do this (my screen is different from yours) ... but if you snoop around, you'll find it probably down at the bottom of any page of the thread, by clicking on some drop-down box somewhere. It will say "Close this topic"

I click on the little "speaker" symbol and only get little snippets though.

Jeff Tweedy February 7, 2009 - Letters To Santa Living Room Show
Wendy replied to Edie's topic in After The Show
Thanks Warner! You're the bestest! Hear the solo debut of "Deeper Down" here. -
thagle, you need to cut them some slack for the language barrier. Maybe "entitled" isn't a perfectly translated word. Perhaps it was more of an "expectation" okay? I don't like buying tickets blindly, not knowing the seats you will be given. It's a total gamble. I have done it (they were not Wilcoworld sanctioned presales though) and I got "okay" seats, much better than what is being discussed here thankfully -- but I still don't like it. Have any of Wilco's presales used that method in the past? None to my experience.

It does seem to be down. Where it used to say "listen" now it directs you to the preorder page. You can listen to all earlier albums, just not the new one. Who knows, maybe it's down in error. *shrugs*

Happy Birthday Calexico!

I had to, man! I had to!!! It was really just the calendar that pressured me, the Cinci show coming before the album release! Otherwise, I could have waited. But I'm smiling now, and that's a good thing judging from such mixed reactions.

Yesterday was the first listen and I was 50% happy with the album. Yesterday evening was the second listen and I was 75% happy with the album. Now tonight is the third listen and I am 95% happy with the album. Which means there's only 1 song I don't like. Which is "You Never Know." There's some beautiful music on this album, and it's definitely a grower. Thanks to Hollinger. and the others who put together the lyrics. Deeper Down still blows me away, it's my favorite of the bunch. Can't wait for the real CD/vinyl and the first show in the US promoting the new album - Cinci!!! I
