You bought main floor general admission tickets (standing-room-only) on the 19th. There are no reserved seats on the floor, so if you get there way before showtime and wait in line outside, you might get close to the stage. For the 18th, you bought nice reserved seats elevated off the floor in the side sections.

7 Worlds Collide II - we have already discussed at great length in "Just A Fan" section. I think anyone who likes the work of Neil Finn over the years would like Prefab Sprout. And I did know about "Wendy" on Prefab Sprout.
-
Nils? Good grief, remphish1. It's Nels Cline! prefab, you're AOK in my book! Welcome to Via Chicago.

I vote ... NOT a street teamer! Because I LOVE Prefab Sprout! I know we've discussed them before, but it's been a while. (I'm thinking it was Mrs. Peel who was/is a fan, ???) And I still love it when a Prefab Sprout song comes up on my iPod shuffle. Steve McQueen (aka Two Wheels Good) is a classic album IMO. So thanks for the head's up! I'm definitely going to be checking this one out in September. BONUS: (for me anyway!) A visit to MySpace for Prefab Sprout revealed a few acoustic versions I've never heard before. Damn, this guy's voice is so beautiful. And the songs are

I admire him for doing what he wanted to do. I once quit a higher paying job because I had to work too many hours. I had no life. So I quit and got my life back, no regrets. Don't get me wrong - the money would be nice, but I'd have no time to spend it because I'd be working all the time, would be highly stressed out, and having no fun (i.e. not being able to go to concerts etc). And to be honest, if I were a musician, I'd probably have to move on to different bands just to play different songs. I would get so sick of playing the same songs over and over and over. Seriously. I don'

I like it. Can't say I love it, however it has been just one spin so far. But I hope it's a grower into that "love it" category like the other Fruit Bats albums have been for me.

WTF is up w/ presale tickets for Ann Arbor??
Wendy replied to jessie Watterson's topic in Just A Fan
Frontgate presale was yesterday, those tix are long gone by now. Livenation/Ticketmaster had a presale this morning, and the password was tweedy. There was a thread about that here: Presales don't have very many tickets. They are typically gone in a few minutes. Hop on the ticketmaster onsale this saturday morning. Good luck! -
You might. That is, if you want every tidbit of info to come to you, as opposed to you checking back often at the website in times of confusion like this Texas thing. The email fan list has never been sent out for every little tidbit, mostly just periodic updates.
-
Nope. They talked about the song "You and I" and about how Feist got involved, and then played "You and I."

... Just reporting this in case anyone thought it was fixed with 3.0.1 I tried to find a thread talking about this at the IPB board, but all I noticed was that there were youtube videos there which I could see and didn't crash my old work PC browser which I can't upgrade. So I'm a little confused by this. It's not the end of the world, obviously, but it makes viewing/participating in the "Now Playing" thread nearly impossible. Which is one of my favorite things about VC, so I'm sad. This is the only thing bugging me still about the IPB upgrade & my old IE6 browser. This one I

OK, update on Louisville ... I just went in to see if I could score okay seats for Chicago show 10/30, and ticketmaster has a button for Louisville. So I clicked on that, and it took me right into the LiveNation Louisville purchase thingy again, and I tried, and got sec 2 row B right on the aisle. Something must have been wrong with Louisville. So try again! http://www.ticketmaster.com/Monsters-of-Folk-tickets/artist/1343216

Shut out for Louisville too. Probably didn't have many tickets. But that LiveNation website was really slow.

Welcome to VC, Ben! This pinned thread in "Just A Fan" section will help you get all your ducks in a row before tomorrow's presale. Be aware that we are all pretty new to the FrontGate ticketing system, because for many years Wilco used MusicToday, and just a few months ago changed to FrontGate. Password-wise, you may or may not need one, right now I don't see anything about a password just yet. But check Wilcoworld's tour page for more info about that show. Good luck! http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/39572-general-info-about-front-gate-ticketing/

This worked extremely well. Thanks Dude! I like this channel 63. In the last 15 minutes, I've heard John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Patterson Hood, Alejandro Escovedo, John Hiatt ...

Oh, the no-3-letter-search function on this software makes it hard to find threads on bands like Dr. Dog and XTC etc. So I found this 11-page VC love affair thread with Dr. Dog and merged your new comments at the end, Lamrod. Thought you might like to read what others have said in the past about Dr. Dog. Onward! Maybe I can finally catch a show. Oops, no. I think Wilco is on tour Oct 16th. Damn. From their website:

There is no official Wilco fan club like you might be thinking. They are referring to Wilcoworld's FrontGate ticket presale. Just keep an eye on Wilcoworld's show page for more details. And if you need more info about FrontGate ticket presales, here's a thread for you: http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/39572-general-info-about-front-gate-ticketing/

He did at The Chapel at Calvin College, but apologized first.

Correct! Thank you Tamala for understanding me. Yes - This is a sit-down reserved seat performing arts center, a very nice venue on OSU Campus. And I recall that the last time Wilco played the Wexner/Mershon, tickets sold very slowly, finally selling out in the last day or two before the show. So Columbus was slow to respond, but they did come through in the end. It will be interesting* to see how fast these sell out for Wilco this time around, new album, higher profile band, etc. (*Maybe only to me, as I find myself strangely obsessed with concert ticket sales details and promotio

Oh, I love Wexner Center. But I'm a reserved seat fan. I've seen Wilco there several times, most notably the last time in 2007 which was memorable as being the debut of Jeff's white Nudie suit, the first one. It was a doubly-exciting walk-onto-the-stage moment, because Nels walked out first and tripped over cords on the floor in front of Pat's location, stumbled somehow gracefully across the stage, nearly seriously injuring himself, but didn't - to which Jeff calmly says, "Nels can't handle the suit." One of my favorite all-time Wilco moments!

Man, you gotta get up pretty early to beat Chandler in this thread! He's 2-for-2!
-
The bike photo rules. And I love how they punch up the first letter of a new paragraph with a mustard-squirt letter!
-
Finally got reserved - 103 row B But twice now, shut out for a floor ticket for Edie. Edit: Just now at 12:23 got one for Edie!

I don't know. It's like a cross between the Joker and The Shining.
