  1. Congrats to them both. I just ran across this article looking for a ticket to Louisville's show. (There are some now available at Livenation). It has RA's publicist confirming that it's true. (You never know what's the truth anymore on the internet, IMO) http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/tv/41102102.html
  2. Why are so many of the albums "9's" with only 1 vote? It seems about as helpful as the amazon.com star ratings on albums (which is not very). It also seems like a massive time-waster to me and not really that informative. I'm clearly in the minority here, but I voted no. I'm just not interested in this kind of thing. Because I don't really like rating albums in the first place. I would rather read verbal reviews of why VC'ers like a particular record (like what happens in the NP thread), not statistical averages.
  3. not in any particular order ... and really mostly what I've seen in the last 5-10 years Alejandro Escovedo Calexico Wilco Peter Gabriel Ryan Adams & The Cardinals
  4. I can't get this link to work, but I do have Vista so ...
  5. Oh, I'm sorry Hazel - Like you mentioned in your separate thread today on the Feist duet news from RS Smoking Section, you wished you had posted it in "new album news" and so I merged it in with this thread. Since we talked about the Feist duet last week, a few pages ago, I took out the link. No worries. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?act...amp;pid=1289735 I'm with you on being excited about the duet! Can't wait to hear it.
  6. Cool you get this opportunity! I have to say, I truly enjoyed the scenic photo with the pink frosted and sprinkled doughnut. WTF? And I vote for Zorb parks in the USA!
  7. Oh John, you and your good memory and excellent research skills ... go be a teacher or something!
  8. I have become utterly smitten with Harry Nilsson over the last year or two. I went sorta off the deep end and have been collecting the BMG Japan imports, remastered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the debut. Plus they have bonus tracks! Outtakes, alternate versions, etc. The sound on these is excellent, and they are so cute, too - tiny versions of the original LP covers. I have: 1967 Pandemonium Shadow Show 1968 Aerial Ballet 1969 Harry 1970 The Point! 1971 Nilsson Schmilsson 1971 Aerial Pandemonium Ballet 1972 Son of Schmilsson 1973 A Little To
  9. I sometimes save new albums to listen to when I'm driving home from an out-of-town show. I listen pretty well then. If I'm sleepy, first I stop and get coffee and then I have to put on something that I can't help but sing to, which used to be Fruit Bats until I got really tired of it ( ) and now it is Harry Nilsson. I've got at least a dozen of his discs on my iPod, so the songs never repeat. Great staying-awake music. However, if I'm not in the mood for Harry Nilsson, I will put my iPod on random and play "name that tune" with myself. It's amazing how much I have on there I've ne

Oh man, I can NOT read your home address or credit card number off that jpg. Please enlarge. thx.
  12. Nodep, hope you don't mind, but this "what do you want?" kind of question you posed is different from the "new album news" thread, so let's hear people respond to your question, and not let it get mixed up with actual news.
  13. Owl & Bear is the best! Thanks Tris for everything you and A-man and all the other folks do to compile such a great archive for Wilco fans!
  14. Because these articles move around, I'll paste the text here: ... from the "Smoking Section" of Rolling Stone http://www.rollingstone.com/blogs/smokings...ilco-update.php
  15. I think people are making potshots at the lazy journalism. Why doesn't Magnet just interview the band (hello, there's a new DVD and new album coming!) and post something more interesting than this lame list-making and a link to a 7-year-old article.
  16. My love for jangly pop has no seasons, so I need to check this band out.
  17. The band should add another show on Monday the 13th
  18. This is only the Wilcoworld presale. I have no idea how big (in ticket quantity) the Pabst presale was.
  19. Live from Studio X - WXRT (at the Hideout in Chicago on Feb 20, 2009 before their public show at Park West) http://www.93xrt.com/xrtv-watch-music-videos/3177430 There's a lot of videos here (9 actually). Wondering if they videotaped the whole private show? At any rate, nice of XRT to show us the performance!
  20. I was still working on WTF this post means ... when this one came along:
