Yes, I meant commercial release. I borrowed it from a friend of mine and imported it but I liked it so much I had to own a hard copy. I have looked a little on line for the 5 cd boot and have only found pay sites. Any recomendations?

Nah, I was listening to Planet Waves again today and thought about what you said when I heard Hazel. It's reaching a bit but it could make sense. I thought about buying some Handsome family today but instead I purchased a legal copy of the Basement Tapes. Still riding the wave.

I think it works in a heartfelt, who cares if it's cheesy because this song is for my children kind of way.

I've been listening to Planet Waves all week. Why is this album not considered one of his best or at least one of his best from the 70's. I've read that it was received warmly by critics but didn't sell very well and on the supporting tour they eventually dropped every song but Forever Young. I think it sounds great musically. It may not contain Dylan's most poetic lyrics but man it has a groove.

A friend of mine suggested I buy Being There when it first came out. I thought it was interesting but it didn't blow me away. It did lead me to Uncle Tupelo and then to Son Volt. When Summerteeth came out Wilco became my new favorite band and they have been ever since. ( In retrospect Being There is probably my favorite.)

Just bought this on Monday. Just put it on tonight. Man, it's pretty damn good.

Thanks for the response Louie B. I think I'll give Slow Train a shot if only for Serve Somebody. I'm not a religious person, but my mom is and I learned to appreciate gospel through her. The gospel album The Troublemaker by Willie Nelson is one of my favorites so I'm sure Dylan can make a decent one as well.

I'm the one who started this thread about obsession. I think Dr. Canuck was just defending it. I don't believe anyone said anything about inventing obsession. Is the gospel Dylan stuff any good? I know Serve Somebody is good and I liked John Doe's cover of Pressing on. Just curious.
