  1. Are there any good Beatles forums around? There seems to be more information about them on this sight than there are on the ones I've googled up.
  2. Mystifies Me was the song my wife and I danced to at our wedding. Wide Swing Tremolo is as good Trace imo.
  3. That's funny LouieB. I live here in Austin and I've always had to describe the appeal of Daniel Johnston to my friends who don't live here. My description is he's like the emperor with no clothes. Once you're in on the joke he's easier to listen to. I recently traded all of his stuff away. I saw him in Half Price Books the other day btw.
  4. I've been listening to Ram all day and it's awesome. It's like McCartney and Brian Wilson made an album together.
  5. These days I'm leaning more toward Paul's pop confections than John's socially conscious rock-n-roll. I just bought Band On the Run, Ram, and Red Rose Speedway. What else is good? Sorry if this has been covered before but I did a search and found nothing.
  6. In X-Ray, Ray said that David Watts was a friend/promoter who had a thing for Dave. I'd have to go back and look but I think it was something like that. He also said several times that Preservation Act 1 and 2 was his best work. I've listened to it several times and am having a hard time getting into it. Anyone?
  7. Man, I'm right there. I just read X-ray. I have everything up through Schoolboys In Disgrace. I can't stop listening to them. Muswell is my overall favorite because of its country leanings but everything before that starting with Face to Face is incredible. I may even go as far as to say I like them better than the Beatles(maybe its the newness). Everything that I have after Muswell is kind of spotty.
  8. Where's a reliable place to download the Purple Chick deluxe editions?
  9. I like the cd. It sounds fresh. It would be cool if the remasters had a version that stayed true to the originals and a version that took some liberties and some chances. Instead we'll probably just get stereo and mono versions.
  10. Back in the U.S.S.R. is my personal favorite off of this album but I think the whole thing is pretty great. I don't get the whole "throw away track" thing. The album wouldn't be as good without every single track. There's nothing IMO that should have been thrown away.
  11. God, some of you people are really old. I hope I can still hear music when I'm old.
  12. Oh no, I don't need any reminder To know how much I really care But it's just making me blinder and blinder Because I'm up on a hill and still you're not there.
  13. Good song. Normally it annoys me when a band mentions their name in a song but Jeff does it with a nudge and a wink. It has the right amount of cockiness and bravado. Very catchy. I hope there are more like it down the road.
  14. Great band. I have all of their cds. I actually used to play in a band with a guy who used to play in a band with a guy who went on to play with Slobberbone. I saw them live at Antones once and they were sloppy awesome and very entertaining.
  15. Summerteeth summerteeth summerteeth .
  16. That's funny. Not even a minute huh.
  17. That's awesome. His voice always gives me goosebumps.
  18. Obviously I'm less of a music fan because I don't fully appreciate the warmth and inconvenience of "vinly".
  19. Has anyone seen the Marriott commercials with Andrew Bird songs?
  20. On and On and On was the closing song for this wretched program
  21. That's hilarious. The first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was that he looked like a lost member of Poison.
