  1. You're right, just thought I'd kiss a little ass just in case.
  2. Trace is the best, but Wide Swing Tremolo is f'in awesome. Also, I think Terroir Blues is a great CD
  3. Is no one going to check out the Steven Seagal band?
  4. I've read through a couple of threads that says he does from time to time. I'm not going to search for them so you'll just have to trust me.
  5. I'm sorry I posted here about Casino Queen. I agree that this isn't a great thread. I started imagining that Jeff might read this and I can hardly criticize someone that I think is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation for a couple of lines that I wouldn't have used in one of my songs. Normally my songs make me cringe. Sorry Jeff, you're the greatest.
  6. "Casino Queen. My lord your mean. I've been gambling like a fiend on your tables so green." It's about the only Wilco song that makes me cringe. "How about I just go eat some hay. I could make things out of clay. Lay by the bay. I just may. What do you say?"
  7. Is that Jason Lee on the Gretsch? (JK). Has anyone ever checked out The Steven Seagal band?stevenseagal
  8. I think the "muzzle of bees" is his desire to take off aimlessly down the "random painted highway" like a dog fleeing from a "muzzle of bees". To me the song is about a contemplative drive out in the country. The sun getting passed from tree to tree is just what it looks like when you're driving down the road between a line of trees and the sun is low on the horizon. The same with the sea and it sparkling off the water.
  9. I recently started with Face the Truth and I think it's great. I then moved on to Real Emotional Trash. I think it's good as well (still getting into it). I can't wait to hear the other two solo albums. My rambling point is, I also bought Crooked Rain and Wowie Zowie based on the strength of Face the Truth and am not as impressed. Is Pavement a " guess you had to be there " band? Malkmus's solo stuff blows me away. Pavement, not so much.
  10. For some reason Woodgrain is one of my favorites. It always ends up in my wilco mixes.
  11. I don't know what the first song was but my wife and I danced to Mystifies Me from Son Volt's Trace.
  12. My wife and I are going also. Can't wait.
  13. I've just learned to trust Tweedy's song writing and judgement . When Summerteeth came out I thought it was great, better than Being There(I now think they are equally amazing). When YHF came out I was initially disappointed but I had faith. Boy, what a pay off. It's been the same for all the other albums. I even questioned the wisdom of adding Nels Cline into the mix. Silly me. Have faith, these boys know what they're doing.
  14. Add me to the list of people who love this song. It feels like it took no effort to create but yet it's still insinuating and catchy. And in my opinion it's not as corny lyrically as some other songs on AM like say maybe Box Full of Letters or Passenger Side or Casino Queen(still love all of them).
  15. I'm going to see Wilco in H-town on March 7th. I can't wait. I feel like I'm missing something every time someone talks about how great Centro-matic are. I take a step back and listen to the albums that my friends have burned for me and try and try and try. I don't get it. They sound like a rock band. Guitar, bass, drums and nothing special. Maybe someday, I love my O.C.D. The same goes for MMJ. I like some of their songs but most of the lyrics leave me cold. Maybe someday.
  16. What about Terroir Blues? I thought That album was great.
