I got the second to last one at Waterloo(stereo). The guy told me the record company underestimated.

I have All Things Must Pass and I need to listen to it more. From what I remember it is good. I just have a problem with the whole spiritual aspect of Harrison's work. It's just a hang up I have that has prevented me from taking it to seriously.

Have you listed to Ram? If you have why, in your opinion is it not better than Band on the Run? I think Band on the Run is to polished and arena rock bandy. Ram to me sounds like he's having fun and playing more with odd vocal layers and song structures. It reminds me somewhat of Smile. It has more of an "indie rock" feel to it. I'm just curious because I love Ram probably more than a few Beatles albums and I'm starting to think that maybe I'm a little odd.

It may have been panned when it first came out but it is much more appreciated today. I personally perfer Paul's first two albums over any other Beatles solo effort.

That's what they all say. But seriously, I hear you. I've been singing songs all my life and it annoys everyone around me. There's always a song in my heart. You don't have to actively listen to music for it to be there. It's just there. The visceral experience comes when you least expect it. As jaded as we all can become, one song can make us feel like a kid again. Keep listening. Talk hard.

Dylan stopped by cops in New Jersey. HAHA

Anyone ever hear about how Willie was pulled over and arrested in Hewitt, Texas for weed? That was just down the road from my parents house. How could anyone arrest Willie for weed? That's like arresting me for breathing. -
I feel what you're saying. I have many holes in my soul and music is a local anesthetic. I would think that your avatar would have some answers. Music has been the only thing so far that has made it all worthwhile for me, but I have my doubts. There are people who live beautiful lives without ever being music snobs.

I never said I would give it up. I just sometimes wish I could be as passionate about something more constructive, like feeding the world or tending the sick or putting a man on Mars or reforming health care or fixing my car or teaching my kids how to fish. Oh, God

I have a love/hate relationship with music. I can't get enough of it but most of the time I feel I've wasted my life on it. I've played in bands when I should have been studying. I surf the net and read about bands when I could be learning something that betters my life. I'm 38 years old and I feel like I've never really grown up. My friends and relatives talk about grown up stuff and I'm still obsessed with music. I work for a guitar builder for god's sake. It's been like this my whole life. I have a wife and kids but I still spend more money on cds than on my tool box collection in the garag

I Think Riot Act has some great songs on it. More than Binaural at least.

How Is Kicking Television holding up?

Thanks Speed Racer. I have two of these shows and they are two of my favorite. I'll need to check out the rest on the archive. -

I too prefer Jeff's soloing on all of the old songs and that's what turned me off about Nels when he first started. There was something about way Wilco attacked those songs before Nels came along that I miss. What pre-7/2004 shows are your favorites? -
SPOONX3 shows available for purchase

Just bought this. The sound quality is good as far as I can tell from listening to the first couple of songs. I think it's awesome to get three professionally mixed live concerts in flac format for $20. I wish Wilco would have done that with their residency shows. Anyway Spoon rocks. I'll report back later with my favorite. -
As much as I like Spiders, I can understand why people dislike it more than I can understand the dislike for Country Disappeared. CD is such a beautiful, classic sounding song. I think someone mentioned it somewhere and I agree, it sounds like it could have been written and recorded for Planet Waves.

Still trying to find a way to pre-order Cedar Park tickets. I went to www.theseats.com and this was their bio for Wilco. Ha Ha -

McCartney) – 2:26 "Dear Boy" – 2:12 "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" – 4:53 "Smile Away" (P. McCartney) – 3:51 "Heart of the Country" – 2:21 "Monkberry Moon Delight" – 5:21 "Eat at Home" – 3:18 "Long Haired Lady" – 5:54 "Ram On" (P. McCartney) – 0:52 Features an impromptu early rendition of "Big Barn Bed"—later recorded for Red Rose Speedway—in its fadeout This version is a continuation of the first version, which share the same audio during the fades

Why the F#@k are the Cedar Park (not Austin) tickets not available? The Dallas tickets are. -
I'm torn. I can't buy both.

Pretty cool. Is this a daily thing?

I didn't read trough every post so this may have been asked and answered but who were those other two guys off to John's right playing guitars?
-
Can I get one too, please?

If your other half hates Wilco are they necessarily the better half?

I thought Glenn said that about Elliott.

Ever since I read the article about Tricky and Tom I've been checking out Tricky's stuff. It's pretty good. At least the mid nineties stuff. I think a collaboration between the two might be very interesting.
