  1. Arn't all Wilco concerts 'an audience of all Wilco fans'? I know that some people have issues with jackasses at concerts, but I can tell you that there are those at every concert. Plus Wilco is not that big where people just buy their tickets for the heck of it or get given free tickets through work.

You apparently were not at the Jeff Tweedy show at the Orpheum in Madison. The crowd was down right obnoxious. While I don't think many people bought the tickets just for the heck of it (speaking of the Tweedy show) it does seem the larger the venue the more people who don't know the music show up. Generally it is those people who aren't there to listen to the music they are there to drink and be dumb asses.

Props to Wilco for playing a smaller venue and charging about the same ticket price. Those that where lucky enough to get tickets hopefully are those that are respectful of the band and those that paid to go see them.

  2. When I went around 3 (places no less) they said they sold all of their's by 10:30 (each place gets 50 or so). In fact one place said the Barrymore guys came in at 10:00 and told them they couldn't sell the tickets, and took them back.

Online tickets are sold out. I would suggest calling the Barrymore

Hope you all have some luck

  3. Team Wilco,

I'm on the home stretch with acquiring all the random Wilco bits 'n bobs and would love some help. I'm trying to get an mp3 of "I'm the Man Who Loves You" (Live 7-31-2002 105.5 WMMM, Madison, WI)--found on the Live from Studio M vol.2 compilation album.

I know this cd is out of print, but I just can't seem to find it anywhere, anyway. Not even ebay.

If anyone has it, could they either post the link or email me with this sucker? I'd really-really-really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!

    THANKS!

Did you try emailing the Radio Station? They are generally pretty cool there. Except as of the last 5 years the music has gone down hill. I would try Joe Lambert, he is a big Wilco fan and the best DJ on that station. Their Website is 1055triplem.com.

On a side note, I was actually at in studio performance. It was really cool and low key. Though the interview part was awful.

  4. The likelihood of this selling out Today for the presale is prolly non existant. I don't think the Barrymore would be cool with selling all the tix before they go on sale to the general public, though an audience of all wilco fans would be pretty cool.

With that being said it is a small place so if you do take your chances at the box office do it early. I would imagine it would take a week or two before the show completely sells out.

I did buy two tix for the presale, but I need to buy more. I figure I buy the others on Friday.

  6. Is it a file that has been bought at the iTMS (iTunes Music Store)? If so you can do a couple of things

Have the orginal user "deauthorize" all computers and then change the password for their iTMS account

also try J Hymn Project. This "scrubs" the music and unlocks it. Unfortunatly it does not work with music bought with iTunes 6 or 7. Or if you upgraded to iTunes 6 or 7.

If it is not music bought at iTMS, then I have no idea.

  7. I have had this album for a couple of days now. My first impressions after a couple of listens is the same to every other Jay Bennett solo effort (the Bennett Burch discs notwithstanding). I want to go up to Jay Bennett and scream at him, "For Fucksakes, man! 1000 different effects on a song do not make it good!"

Jay's words are great, Jay's vocals are unique, but when put together with a producer that sounds like he has just discovered pro-tools the outcome is crap. Stop with the effects. I think Jay's production ruined this record. The vocals are so muddled; music is obscured by layer upon layer of instruments and weird ass sounds. You know one or maybe two songs like this are ok, but when it is 13 songs it ends up hurting my head. It is great that Jay can play 50 instruments I just would he would not do it on one song.

Jay's best work has always been in collaboration with others (Tweedy and Burch). Jay desperately needs someone to tell him no, or to stop.

With that being said there are some moments on the record. I like "5th Grade" and "Survey the Damage." I don't think I will ever listen to this album as whole again, it will be one of those that I will be shuffled in my iPod.

  8. I used to love the simpsons, but in recent years it has been more of a :yawn , then anything else. I think the show has become a parody of itself. But tonight I have nothing to do, I might as well turn on the TV and watch Jack and Meg. More then likely they will only be part of the episode for a few minutes in the beginning and a bit at the end. So I am not expecting anything great

  9. Bigger than Blue is Jay's best solo release. It has some great songs and some that just suck. Is stuff with Burch is fablous and you can't go wrong with the two Palace records.

Do not bother with anything else becsue it just is not good.

I have always felt that Jay Bennett's music suffers from the fact that there is no one to tell him no.

On Bigger then Blue some needed to say, "hey Jay 500 tracks of different weird looping changes, and 30 different guitar parts do not show your genius. Hold back a bit."

A perfect example of this is Jay's version of Cars Can't Escape.

Jay great song writer terrible producer.
