  1. I want this Less More Than You Think
  2. Raising my hand on Jeff’s vocals. I really started to notice it on his solo stuff. It is a weird whisper thing that is dare I say borderline annoying. It is frustrating cause the lyrics are top notch and live it sounds great. As for the EP it is always good to get new music. Livid is my early stand out and I wish was another minute or so longer, the idea just gets going and stops. Whereas Inside The Bell Bones should be 30 seconds shorter. Ice Cream is a meh, but Say I Love You is great and works with Jeff’s current vocal style. I like the strings in that one. ann
  3. List "journalism" is dumb. Here is an arbitrary list we came up with with 50 superficial words on each album. Meaningless and stupid.
  4. Buddy of mine sent this to me https://forms.sonymusicfans.com/campaign/wilco-hot-sun-cool-shroud-pre-save/ Anyone know anything about it?
  5. I listened to it and have been listening to the Podcast in general. It is Seth Meyers and his brother, Josh, talking to various guests about the family trips they took. It is interesting. The Jeff Tweedy one was good, as Jeff is a natural storyteller and Seth is a good interviewer. The Duck Boat bit was about a trip he took to the Wisconsin Dells with his family (Sue, Spencer and Sam). He doesn't go into too much detail about the Duck Boat, but he does say they went to the Water Parks there. Which is amusing to me to think of Jeff going down a water slide. Also he Jeff did t
  6. Jeff has a style. Not a good one, but a style.
  7. No one is talking about Tweedy on Cobert from a couple of nights ago? Also apparently Jeff is taking some heat for saying he doesn't like "I will always love you" I have seen People Magazine and the like throw out articles that people comment on after only reading the headlines. Because the internet. Sigh.
  8. 1. Villagers -Califone 2. Cousin - Wilco 3. what matters most - Ben Folds 4. Continue as a guest - New pornographers 5. Celebrants - Nickel Creek
  9. It's not that I don't like it, I am very tired of it. There are other songs that I would much rather hear live then California Stars for the millionth time.
  10. Never started one of these before and always relied on the kindness of strangers for the a recap, but I may have been the only VC'er at the show. I am not the greatest at remembering the show and the full details, so bear with me. Something is better than nothing, I suppose. Anyway, a fun, light and breezy show, outside of the book tour. A pretty standard Jeff Tweedy performance with the witty banter one would expect. My buddy and I remarked, after the show, seeing Jeff these days is like putting on a comfortable sweater, it feels nice, warm and just makes you happy. Playing
  11. Mr. Jeff Tweedy at the Stoughton Opera House.
  12. Where are you going to see him? I got tickets to the show (non book related) at the Stoughton Opera House 11/12
  13. not so much still life, but still autographed CD. This is when I saw the band perform at WMMM (Triple M in Madison WI) early 2002 iirc
  14. I assume Friday it will be available on all the streaming services, no?
  15. Mine is somewhere outside of Durham NC and set to be delivered Friday.
  16. Here is mine (via Spotify so y'all can listen) Also is it cheating to have three Jeff Tweedy songs on there?
  17. Saw this on the X machine (aka known as Twitter). Interesting idea. What you all got?
  18. His goal had become to be an echo The type of sound that floats around And then back down like a feather But in the deep chrome canyons of the loudest Manhattans No one could hear him Or anything
  19. Me and a friend of mine where having a discussion about Jay Bennett and we got to talking about the song "Watching Junior drive." So we went to find it and couldn't. I couldn't even remember what album it was on to go see if my long forgotten CD collection had it somewhere. Does anyone know where I could track this down?
  20. I demand nothing less than perfection from your After the Show reports
  21. Nudie Suit Days! I was hoping they would break those out for the Cruel Country Tour.
  22. A message about no smoking. Amazing.
  23. A couple more REM - Around the Sun Elvis Costello - All This Useless Beauty (technically 19 years from first release, but it is so damn good). And his stuff from 30 years into his career is pretty amazing. Son Volt - Notes of Blue, which is underrated IMHO and this might be a stretch, but Jack White released the first White Stripes album in 1999 and at the 20 year mark he came out with the fantastic one two punch of Fear the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive.
