Thom Yorke did one. And now Radiohead is coming out with a new record. They seem to be okay.
Yeah but that Thom Yorke album was pure shit.
-
so yeah, I went to radiohead.com and it took me to the in rainbows site. And the above postings are correct. It looks like you can get the album for whatever. t just seems weird, I don't know. I have a weird feeling about the whole thing.

It really would only work if there was an unnecessary Brett Favre cameo.

This almost makes me want to go to Milwaukee and see this show.

I have lived in Madison (or the area) from the age of three until now (less 6 years while I was in Minneapolis and DC). It is a great city, lots to do etc. If you really want specific details feel free to pm me.
Also being the UP the question is if you enjoy the fantastic sport of Curling. Because if you do Madison has a great curling club. And leagues are starting up soon.

3rd row center I CANT WAIT!!
anyone around for drinks before/after?
I am always partial to Nick's. It is across State street, has a killer juke box, the bartenders make great grasshoppers, and of course it is the home of good food.

Man, I was hoping that this would be a thread about Tweedy covering that awesome 10,000 Maniacs song.

I like:
"I'll Sink Manhattan" by They Might Be Giants. Though it is kinda a f you song.
Looking at the old iTunes I found
"New York Baby" - Leona Ness
"New York Town" - Woody Guthrie
And in that area but not necessarily NY
"Newark Wilder"- Pavement
"New Jersey" - Red House Painters
I suppose you could put on anything from the Beastie Boys To the 5 Boroughs but that album is craptastic.
-
A side from the fact that is slightly over produced, and the lyrics are at times a tad trite. The song is good and fits great in the album as whole.
-
I do one and it is great. I highly suggest it. Also look into your health insurance they may give you a rebate if the farm qualifies. We got $200 back. Which is like half price.

Anyone know or have heard of the Madison show is sold out? I just tried to get tickets on Saturday and it was not letting me.
-
By 10:02 I was unable to get a single ticket for Madison. Either the presale seats were gone really quickly, or there was some kind of error. Oh well, guess I'll have to try on Friday.
I did not get any either. Home many tickets do you thing the released for the presale? My guess it is like 6 or 7.
See ya all on Friday?

And here we are, July 2007 with Nels Cline, undoubtedly one of the best guitarists of his generation.
Wow, Nels is good, but the best guitarists of his generation? That is a hyperbole if I have ever heard one.

Hey gustafks is my brother. I guess I am a bad brother cause I forgot to start his happy birthday tread on the old VC.

i live in milwaukee, im a brewer fan, not annoyed by people wearing brewer shirts, annoyed by Cubs fans wearing Cub shirts in Milwaukee.
That is too bad. I didn't know the town you lived in required you to have allegiance to a specific team.
I am a Cub fan and have been all my life, I live in Madison WI. I'll wear my Cub gear proud.
-
so yeah, I listened to it and well it made wish I still smoked pot, but since I don't it was mostly annoying, and I got bored with it really quick.
-
Sounds like it would be horrible. But I am willing to try anything, once.
BTW that was the most difficult thing trying just to get the file. I have never been more confused in life.

SEP-11 MADISON, WI OVERTURE HALL TBA
I've never seen anything like Wilco at the Overture.
I guess the days of the Barrymore are gone. That is too bad. While I like Overture Hall for its acoustics, etc. Shows there seem to be sterile there.

Who is to say he is not a member here at VC? Be nice.

I have always wanted to write about Butch Vig's two bands prior to Garbage. Both were straight ahead midwestern rock. The first (and third) was called Spooner and the second was called Fire Town.

I remember those guys! Of course I live in Madison, WI.
What about Aaron Scholz? Simple singer songwriter.
Bit Rate
in Someone Else's Song
Posted
After reading several articles on the new Radiohead album, there has been a lot of comments on the bit rate of the download. After listening to the album several times, I have not noticed any difference from albums that I have ripped from CD's, or listened to via the actual CD.
I should note, that I am not an audiofile, I have average speakers and use the headphones that came with my iPod. So the question I have for all of you, is does the bit rate really matter, and how many of you are concerned with the bit rate of audio tracks? Also are any of you upset at Radiohead for "selling" a low quality bit rate album?
Just wondering.
