  1. You absolutely cannot call a race where you get less votes (and still win) a dominant victory. It is a victory, but not dominant, you kid yourself if you think it was. Electoral college only matters when you get 270 reading any type of landslide or domination beyond that is really nothing. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/11/09/why-electoral-college-landslides-are-easier-to-win-than-popular-vote-ones/ Of course there is zero responsibility to placate the left, but as a matter of principal, shouldn't he? The facts are a MAJORITY of AMERICAN VOTERS said they do not want the polici
  2. Dave Matthews Band open up for Big Head Todd and the Monsters, in like 1994. Soul Coughing open up for They Might be Giants in 1993
  3. He certain can DO whatever HE wants. But SHOULD he? No matter how you SHAKE it. A majority of PEOPLE did not vote FOR Trump. A MAJORITY of the voting PUBLIC did not want Trump as their PRESIDENT. I am not refuting the claims he is president or the electoral college should be abolished or whatever. I am saying when a large number of the population does not want you as president, that is something that you have to acknowledge. Also it is important to note that majority of votes cast in the House and in the Senate were for Democrats. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpoliti
  4. Have to reward the Alt-right for helping him get elected.
  5. You can't ignore these protests. You can't just dismiss them as whining or complaining that it is sour grapes. Donald Trump won the election, he did not cheat, by all accounts it was fair. But do not forget Clinton will have won the popular vote. More Americans who voted, voted for her over Trump. The Trump Administration, has to acknowledge this, they have to understand this. They do not have a mandate to do whatever they want. If there is a lesson to be learned here is do not just dismiss people who are angry. Maybe find out why they are angry. Maybe do something about that.
  6. That is a way to look at things. Or another way to look at things is they are expressing their first amendment rights to speak out against something they disagree with. People are scared, people are worried. The rhetoric of the campaign told a large swath of this country that they are less important. To blindly dismiss them as babies, does a disservice to America as a whole. But our insular world view automatically rejects those we disagree with, instead of understanding why we disagree with them.
  7. and of course the President Elect. https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/796900183955095552?lang=en What a Trump presidency has done is that is has normalized, to an extent, this kind of behavior. Which is the true unfortunate thing that has happened. It is important to anyone who voted Trump to stand up against this. To be outraged. If you supported Trump and are not horrified, then you are a racist scum bag. The President elect, needs to come out and show leadership and try to bring the country together.
  8. What the hell are you talking about? Stop projecting what you see in the right wing media on people here. You have the propensity to half read things and make conclusions that just are not there. There are several things in your statement that have never been said in this discussion. I want specifically point out something here. Especially your statement "and yet you guys are offended by Trump signs." WTF man? I went through the posts to be clear, the only post I saw about Trump signs was Ditty's post the other day. Yeah, if you are not offended by that display then you are a racist
  9. In the Post Trump victory world we live in we have to change our thinking. I think both sides live in a bubble and echo chamber. What the left heard about Trump and its supporters was the xenophobic rhetoric etc. I am not sure that was fully the case. From the analysis of the exit polls it is was more the economy then immigration or terrorism (although those did help). The idiot racists make for good Daily Show segments and good postings on Facebook, but not everyone is that way. But what happened when the left made that the singular focus they lost site of the struggles of these America
  10. I think it essentially boils down to this. Looking at the breakdown of the vote it was largely rural areas that voted Trump. In these areas the population of minorities, especially Muslims and LGBTQ, are relatively small or nonexistent. This lack of first hand contact and experience with these groups does not really allow the sort of empathy required to understand the consequences of Trump's words. If all you hear on the news and your Facebook feed is that Muslims are terrorist it is easy to quietly go along thinking all Muslims are bad and vote for Trump. This compounded by the recovery
  11. Well GOP you got your wish. All three houses, plus the ability to swing the supreme court far right for decades. Let's see what a conservative agenda can really do for America.
  12. Donald Trump is running for President? That is funny - June 2015 Donald Trump will never be the nominee. - January 2016 Donald Trump will never be President - October 2016 These are things everyone said. EVERY SINGLE PERSON. Now look at where we are.
  13. Nice to see the world markets tanking because of this.
  14. I was number #330 in my ward and only had to wait 10 minutes. They did say about 50% of the ward voted in early voting.
  15. Post season finalists have been announced, in the NL very Cub heavy. This is my predictions MVP AL - José Altuve NL - Kris Bryant Cy Young AL - Corey Kluber NL - Jon Lester Manager of the year AL - Terry Francona NL - Dave Roberts Rookie of the Year AL - Gary Sanchez NL - Corey Seager
  16. Isn't that the name of Andy Samberg's music/comedy group?
  17. I think controversy is now, what a complete dick move it was of Comey to put this out. On one had he did have an obligation to tell Congress that the FBI was looking into new information, but to write purposely vague letter is beyond the pale. I do think it is a bit of stretch at this point to say that Comey violate the Hatch Act or anything, but it was kind of a huge F you to Clinton. It is gonna be interesting come January when Clinton is his boss. Look for Comey to resign and then the Senate refuse to confirm whomever Clinton nominates. At this point I would bet that Clinton won't e
  18. What sport do the White Sox play? According to every media outlet, Chicago has only one baseball team and certainly no other baseball team from Chicago has won a world series.
  19. Well Schwaber has not been cleared to play the field. All in all, I think it is beneficial. I expect good things for him off the bench.
  20. Crass has been pretty well documented, in both public and private statements. But if you look at it, what makes you say that Hillary Clinton is corrupt? There is a lot of blow hard right wing media types who shout that she is corrupt. But really beyond the name calling and the finger pointing, what tangible proof do you have to say that she is corrupt?
  21. If Schwaber does play, it would require Heyward in right. Shade Fowler and Hayward towards left, they can cover most of the in field. But, of course do you sit Zobrist? He was pretty hot last night. I guess is Schwaber plus Heyward, better then Zobrist plus Soler/Coughlin/almora? I would bet we'll see Schwaber as a pitch hitter in the 7th.
