  1. Worse game ever. The two teams I wanted to go on are now out. Now it will prolly be NYY and the Cards in the WS. One I will not watch.
  2. An electoral college tie would be as close to a zombie apocalypse as we could get.
  3. This scenario is altogether possible and there are a number of outcomes to get to a 269 - 269 tie. http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/custom-presidential-election-map#nkammnjannajjenje As interesting from a political perspective it would be, holy shit I think the country would rip apart at the seams. And the internet would explode.
  4. I don't know what you would call a lot of "rap" aka hiphop but I have in my collection and tend to listen to fairly often Atmosphere (23 Albums) Beastie Boys (6 Albums) Blackalicios (1 Album) Blockhead (1 Album) Childish Gambino (2 Albums) - Prolly my favorite right now DangerDoom (1 Album) Del Tha Funky Homosapian (1 Album) DJ Abilities (1 Album) DJ Danger Mouse / Jay Z (1 Album) MC Honky (1 Album) MF Doom (10 Albums) Spearhead (5 Albums) Murs and Slug (1 Album) Old Dirty Bastard (3 Albums) The Perceptionists (1 Album) Talib Kweli & Madlib (1 Album) So that 60 albums out of 1060 or 5.
  5. 4 game 5s? That is awesome, who is to say 5 game series suck?
  6. Both sides will argue they won. However what you really need to watch is the moderator blame to tell who really lost. With the Obama Romney debate it was the left hammering on JIm Lehrer. Well see who goes after Raddatz. Though my sound bite summation: Biden helped Obama more than Ryan helped Romney.
  7. I am glad the game got O's and NYY game remained tied so I can watch the end after the Biden / Ryan debate
  8. He needed to be a bit cantankerous. He needed to call out the bull shit. He reminded me of Ron Santo doing color for cubs games. If you are a cub fan you know what I mean
  9. Are you on about the chained comment again? What a complete non-story, ginned up but the right. If you hear some people on the right talk about it, Biden was in blackface doing a minstrel show at the time of the speech. You see it as race baiting, I see it as the use of colorful language and the right trying point out racial intent when there was none. I am not going to change you mind, you aren't going to change mine. I have nothing more to say about it. So regardless of what you think about Joe Biden (douche race-baiter or not) the right plays Joe for a fool and incompetent. His s
  10. Whomever is the next president is, he will appoint at minimum 1 justice and maybe up to 3. With the court being constantly 5-4, in most cases, this would swing the court dramatically. Also this president will appoint several other federal judges, and if the past is any indication, they will end up deciding the fate of the laws passed by the states. Congress won't be able to pass laws on these issues, but the current ones on the books will be decided by the judges the president appoints. The shaping of the judiciary is probably the most important thing that this next president will do an
  11. Yes I understand that nature, a politician will change or revise an earlier position to suit the needs of the electorate (as governor I was for this and now I am against this is common). Mitt changes his story every day. Abortion, public workers, ACA. It is one thing to have a change in opinion from an earlier stance, it is another to change that stance to the exact opposite in less than 24 hours. http://maddowblog.msnbc.com/_news/2012/10/10/14341590-romney-aides-cant-keep-their-story-straight-on-reproductive-rights?lite I don't know your stance on reproductive rights (and I frankly
  12. Jules so you are comfortable with electing a man who seems to have no moral core? Someone who will say whatever he thinks will get him elected? And are you comfortable with electing someone who you don't honestly know how he will govern if elected?
  13. Yep Biden is a complete idiot. Who can barely dress himself, let alone put two words to together with out causing a national or international kerfuffle. The best the Dems can hope for is that he doesn't shit himself and throw it at the moderator. Or Joe Biden is a competent legislator with over 36 years of experience, 17 years as chair or ranking member on the Judiciary Committee and the same for Foreign relations from 1997 to 2008. It is too bad the right wing media some how see it fit to completely denigrate such an accomplished man. Not saying he is perfect and sometimes can put his
  14. Flipping Yanks Though this O's / Yanks series is looking to be shaping up as a good one.
  15. So I kinda want to talk about Libya. What happened in Libya is seen by the GOP as how the Obama Administration has failed in regards to foreign policy. Even today Rep. Darrell Issa called a hearing to discuss The Security failures of Bengazi. Setting aside the fact that Issa is using the death of an American Ambassador as a political prop, there are some interesting facts and numbers to take in account. 1. for fiscal 2011 the GOP control house cut Embassy Security Funding by 128 million 2. for fiscal 2012 the GOP control house cut Embassy Security Funding by 331 million 3. In 2009 Issa an
  16. I don't think anyone (well maybe IRDB) is blaming you for using the conservative talking points here. Hell I use progressive talking points all the time. There ain't no shame in doing so. It can bring focus and help you sharpen attacks and defend your position. Debatable, since Mass was 47th in job creation when he left. Also he socialized the Health Care system. Also he doesn't run too much on his record as Governor. Extremely successful in private business yes. Does that success correlate to a successful Presidency? Guess that will remain to be scene. I don't recall if we ha
  17. Figured you would have brought that up tomorrow, since the Big Bird thing was yesterday's talking points. But before we jump ship on this topic (which I am willing to discuss), how about actually answering ih8music's question. What differences are there in the policies of Mitt Romeny and GWB? And if there aren't any, do you really think that those policies are ones we want to go back to?
  18. And by different path, you mean the same policies of tax cuts for the wealthy, increased military spending (that is not asked for), and putting American soldiers lives at risk by continuing or starting new wars in the middle east. Cause those are where basic policies of GWB. Which you may not remember (or have chosen to forget) left us with the worse economy since the great depression. So not so much as a different path, but as the same path that takes us to the wicked forest. The GOP congress effectively killed the Hope and Change mantra from 2008. PBO came in with high hopes but the
  19. Here is another (albeit lengthly) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbQe-wVK9E&feature=relmfu There are others I am sure. I have asked you time and time again why do you support Mitt Romney. The only answer was "he is not Barack Obama." Your reasoning seems to come form a place of ideology. To me it seems that you would vote for Inanimate carbon rod over PBO just because he is a Republican. I was honestly interested in why you think Mitt Romney would make a better president. I have given my reasons why I am voting for PBO. I believe his economic policies are sound and turnin
  20. John Lennon was a giant douche bag prick (solely on how he treated Julian). I personal can't stand him. But I digress.
  21. WTF has Obama done so far (NSFW version) Or the PG Version What makes you so sure that he doesn't deserve 4 more years? Or that Mitt does (other than the fact as you have said he isn't Barack Obama, which is stupid cop out reason IMHO). It is a close race, Mitt is a better candidate then McCain. The mood of the electorate is quite a bit different, the economy although in a much better place then it was 4 years ago is still sluggish and that affects a lot of people. You keep bringing up the race four years ago, like it means something. Just because PBO isn't beating Mitt like he di
  22. Thinking about it really it was Mitt's only bitt of substance in the debate. Mitt wants an across the board 20% tax cut, an increase in military spending, keep entitlement programs as they are (for existing seniors). But yet is a moral stance that we balance the budget. He is going to do this by eliminating tax loop holes (but not the popular mortgage credit and charity). Yep there are numbers out there to do this Paul Ryan has them but he feels the American people are too stupid to understand them or explain them properly (or at least he would put them out on a website for us to read). Y
  23. by that logic the job numbers shouldn't be tied to any president or politician. And as a result the economy is not the result of any politician policies.
  24. But Louie, does it pass the "should we borrow money from China to pay for it" test? Obviously tax breaks for the rich, increases in military spending that wasn't ask for, a possible war with Syria and or Iran, is what is worth putting on our Chinese credit card (and remember this is what GWB and it must be ok cause it got us to a great place economically). Programs that help people or promote the common good, that does not pass the test. Really Louie, why would we want a common sense balanced approached to the deficit? It is like someone who plans to payoff their 100K credit card by dec
