I can't, Maher said some stuff in recent memory but nothing quite this bad. The Dixie Chicks got slammed by the right for saying they were ashamed that the president [GWB] was from Texas. It comes down to this, there has been a lack of respect for this President on the right. They have consistently called him anti-american, socialist, etc. Remember he won with 53% of the vote, he is the President, regardless of your opinion of the President you don't say things like that. I hated GWB, I thought his policies were bad for the Country, but I never thought he was anti-american. His polici

I am surprised on how we can see something so differently. So a politician does not have the responsibility to distant him or herself from comments made by a well known supporter. In order to show that he or she doesn't hold the same views as the supporter. Should have the democratic party have been so quick to distance themselves from Hilary Rosen? Remember Rosen was not acting in any official capacity for the Democratic party when she made those comments. And I am not saying a politician needs get the full views of all of his supporters and list where they agree and disagree. But

good this thread has turned into name calling. Congratulations. Hey so what are people thoughts on the so called "War on Women." I think Stewart hit the nail on the head (per usual) last night. Also thoughts about The Motor City Madman's recent comments? These comments are terrible and if anything Romney needs to publicly come out against what Ted has said. Of course he won't, prolly cause Ted's fans are TEA partiers and Romney won't want to piss off that segment. But right Bleed the TEA party has no influence in the national race.

that is great, out of the stadiums I have not yet been too it is at the top of the list.

Another hit to my fantasy team.

All of your posts about the TEA party is that they are bunch of racists. I never said they weren't misinformed, I am saying calling them racists is wrong. Again, there is a segment in that culture that is racists and their motivation is because of the color of Obama's skin. But to discount a movement because of a segment and not looking at the whole movement is is not wise. How did I become a defender of a movement I disagree with?

The TEA party started in 2009 as protest of TARP (which GWB signed) and the Stimulus, never said it started during GWB. Listen IRDB you make it sound like the TEA party is the political arm of the Klan, it is not. I agree with you that there are racists in the TEA party, however there are racists in the democratic party (hell it was the party of racists 75 years ago). It fits the narrative better for you that the sole reason the TEA party formed is because Obama is black. That actually does a disservice to the progressive movement in discounting a vocal group of people who are upset on

The TEA party started out in protest of TARP (signed by GWB) and the Stimulus program (signed by Obama). Those where two pretty big government "intrusions" in to the private sector. They are not the KKK, and yes I think a TEA party would have formed if any Democratic president did the same things Obama did. Though to be truthful there is some factor was helped by the color of his skin.

Thought that way, yes, organized not in the slightest. As much as IRDB wants to think, the TEA party was not born out hatred of a black man becoming president. It was born out of the tax policies of a government they did not want. It unfortunately attracted a fringe element that is associated with the right (racists, gun toting hill billies, the uninformed). This is mostly because of Fox News and other corporate entities. The TEA party started out as an anti-tax group but where pushed to the more social issues by other fringe elements. The elections of 2010 proved what kind of power th

Are gonna get into this again? You seem to want to deny the influence of people to the the Republican Party, be it Rush Limbaugh, the TEA party, Fox news or whatever. But look at the 2010 election, if you say that wasn't directly because of the TEA party you are kidding yourself. I'll eat my hat, if Mitt doesn't begin to pander to the TEA party (while still playing to the moderate side). The TEA party influence may have wained since 2011 but they are still there. Oh and BTW, pretty sure the TEA party wasn't really around in 2008 so they would have no effect on the 2008 election.
-
The key word is sense of dignity. From what I have seen Mitt Romeny has no sense of dignity. He will say anything to get elected (I know most politicians will). The TEA party are a bunch of loons, but they are a large segment of the republican base and that is unfortunate cause while their original motives where good (TEA party stands for Tax Enough Already) they have been co-oped by corporations, the religious right, and anti-Obama groups. I still wish the Occupy movement would have actually stood for something tangible and could have moved this country left, as the TEA party moved

Maybe he can play for them all.

Just like being a progressive is enough to classify someone as a communist. http://www.politico....0412/75025.html

If Mitt is smart, he will go with a woman. Latest poll was at 19 point deferential with women between Obama and Mitt. It sure has hell ain't gonna be Sarah, or Bachmann. Who knows?

Santorum officially out. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/10/rick-santorum-drops-out-2012-race_n_1415372.html Mitt v Obama 2012! Now, who is gonna be Mitt's running mate? Paul Ryan?

If he still was in Chicago, I don't think the comments would have garnered all of the attention. But for frak sakes Ozzie you are in South Florida, where the Cuban population is only outnumbered by the neon signs in south beach. Ozzie just says whatever he pleases.
-
So, (and I have said this before) unless God himself comes down and makes Rick Santorum the GOP nominee, it appears it will be Mitt v Obama in Nov. My question to those right leaning people out there. Are you gonna vote this guy? If so why? Is just the fact that he is not Obama, or do you have some convictions? I am not trying to be snarky I am truly interested in why someone would vote Mitt.

Fiasco in what way? The stadium screams Miami. I always felt the stadium should really be a reflection of the city it is in. It would be weird to have a Camden Yards type of stadium in South Florida. Whereas the colors, home run statue, and fish tank may not be my cup of tea, I think it fits in the city very well.

Especially in that park, I am not sure on what the Rockies offense is like, but I wouldn't be surprised of teams scored in the double digits on a regular basis at coor's field.

damn, that Votto signing is good for the reds. I like Votto, he is a hell of a ball player.

Can White 40 year old men join the New Black Panther Party?

depends on the clubs by-laws, generally any private club and exclude any person for any reason. -
Should I vote for Santorum in the WI primary
KevinG replied to KevinG's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I don't want Santorum to be president, nor do I want any of the other no talent ass clowns to win either. So is it not in my best interest to vote to 1) the person who is less likely to win against Obama in the fall and 2) vote to have the GOP beat up on themselves until a nominee is decided upon. So in essence a vote for Santorum is a vote for Obama? Politics are nothing more then a game nowadays. There is not one person running for president who actually cares about the country (Obama included), it is all about power, and agenda. It is such a fing joke, why not take it to the next leve
