Having never been an alcoholic, I can't wrap my head around this one. It sounds like he knew he made a mistake, owned up to it, and is trying to solve his problem, maturely and responsibly. I can't see how this would affect his future. If he was found in a room full of hookers and a pile of blow, that might be a problem.

Man, I saw this after I posted ta new thread about it here. Internet gods kill me now.

If they had recorded a Klezmer, funk fusion band they would have gotten a 8.9. Wilco is not cool enough for Pitchfork.

"If people can't use their smartphones, they don't dance"

You would be surprised (or not) about the lack of common sense at concerts. -

the problem is that if person A is sitting, and person B is standing and dancing, and person B is a row ahead of person A. Person B is directly affecting the enjoyment of person A. Now if person A commands/suggests person B to sit down, person A is directly affecting the enjoyment of person B. It is a no win situation. Personally I go with the flow, if people are sitting I sit, if they are standing / dance I stand (I don't dance, because I can't dance). The one thing that I cannot stand is talking. Concert tickets are expensive these days, and I can't afford them like I could. So -

the lack of dancing is not because of phones or whatever, it is the venues Wilco is playing. The Warfield, I assume (having never been there) is a concert hall with seats. It is hard to dance with seats around you. Just as simple as that. -
"I'll go, I'll go, I'll go...." Cameron in Ferris?

Always loved that movie. Recently saw the behind the scenes making of doc on this movie, quite a story. Also I have always found the "Fight Club Theory" quite interesting, and makes the move very strange indeed. -
With the tiger's lineup I can see them scoring 10 plus runs a game, and don't see their pitching given up that many.

The Nick Hornby album was a great idea, with a handful of interesting tunes, but it really fell flat. Way to Normal was indeed better, but still not to the level that it could have been. The Way to Normal "Fake leak" was superior in many ways.

It was excellent, but man he got fat.

Colour me excitedly pessimistic. Absolutely love BFF and love Ben's solo stuff more. Though I wasn't too keen on the two songs released by BFF on the Ben Fold's retrospective last year. Hopefully it will be some rocking wry songs and there needs to be a tour, in small venues throughout the nation.

Jonathan Coulton has written about Megaupload on his blog. It seems to make sense to me. http://www.jonathancoulton.com/2012/01/21/megaupload/

And my second favorite team, The Twins. Seems like AL Central title is now the Tiger's to lose.

great signing for the Tigers. Glad he is out of the NL Central.

What order do you put Wes Anderson's films in?
KevinG replied to bttrbuffalo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
No, not at all. The book, like most of Roald Dahl's work, is short and doesn't have much in the way of character development. They are kids books after all. The movie has a lot more depth, the same can be said about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and Matilda. Up to the dinner scene in the movie (where the book essentially ends) the story is pretty close, but the kids don't have any names. -

http://youtu.be/eP0QJ_Ba1Bs Trailer for the new Wes Anderson. Already love it. -
Throw in the wildcard of Ozzie as the manager, if things go south for the team it could get real interesting.
-
Little risk, I don't know about that. Z is not a good clubhouse guy and can bring down a team with his antics.
-
Big Z out of Chicago Though I am not high on Chris Volstad, it appears to be addition by subtraction. I hope there is some minor league pitching thrown in with the deal.

I think he didn't want to be type casted and stuck in the "Doctor" role. Since he did Sherlock he has been in (or will be in) Tinker, Tailor Solider Spy, War Horse, The Hobbit, Paradise's End, and Star Trek II. Matt Smith thus far only has two non Who roles since becoming the Doctor (two BBC TV Movies). Benedict didn't also want to appear on school lunch boxes. Of course in this article Benedict says he wasn't offered the role at all, but wouldn't have taken it anyway. I doubt Benedict would appear on Doctor Who, but apparently his mother did.
-
It has been said that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) was offered the part of the Doctor, but declined. Matt Smith auditioned for the role of Watson, but it went to Martin Freeman instead. I think the right choice was made all around. Benedict is the voice of Smaug the Dragon in the upcoming Hobbit films, starring Martin Freeman. Fun stuff. I see a lot of the Doctor in Sherlock overall, it might have to do with the main writing team (Mark Gatis and Moffatt) is the main writers for Who. As for the old eps, I grew up with them and loved them, but they are mostly painful to watch.

Music act of the London 2012 opening ceremony?
KevinG replied to Kim Bodnia's topic in Someone Else's Song
is it even a possibility that a rock artist may perform? I am pretty sure anything printed in the Sun is false. -
Donald Glover (Troy from Community) has put out a couple of Rap Albums under Childish Gambino. The album that came out this year, Camp, was one of my top 5.
