Very cool...always fun to convert. Full disclosure, if you are a music fan and not converted by seeing a DBT show, are you really a music fan? These guys are true professionals. My first time seeing them live was just after Dirty South was released. I think my mouth was open for a good portion of the show.

coincidentally, i'm considering seeing Brendan Benson this week too. Chances slim though. Report back on the show.

Happy Birthday!

Agree with this completely. John Henry is a really good song as well.

I think Dirty South is one of their easier albums to get into. I would consider it to have some of their more accessible work on it. The only album that may take several spins in my opinion is Southern Rock Opera.

Has Naked Raygun been mentioned? -
He just loves his country.

Yeah, I've listened to the Cory Chisel a couple of times through and really like it. He's opening for Jason Isbell on several dates. I'm half tempted to try and check them out in Chicago later this week.

Even his early stuff? I go through phases where Closing Time is in constant rotation. -

I like it quite a bit after two listens. That said, I didn't hear the point of John Paul Jones.
-
Hmmm... how is this? The Sadies sure have their stamp out there.

I voted Replacements but REM were a close 2nd. Both essentially definted my high school years and the Replacements/Westerberg are probably still my favorite band/artist. That said, Uncle Tupelo defined my college years. -
This all makes good sense. A very dark, countrified version of Golden Smog.

It's Ray Davies singing Kinks songs with a choir. There are a few parts that are agruably corny but overall it's pretty damn good. I'm a sucker for just about anything Kinks though.

Blackberry Storm II vs. iPhone 3GS
myboyblue replied to Mr. Heartbreak's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
agreed... i strongly prefer it. -
Why would you have no back-up? I have two external drives that back up my entire catalog a couple of times over. Further, anything you purchase through iTunes, you are entitled to. Prior to backing up my music on external hard drive, I had a crash. Everything that I purchased through iTunes, I was able to download again. I don't recall exactly how I did it...but I did.

Blackberry Storm II vs. iPhone 3GS

I unfortunately have to carry both for business reasons. I strongly prefer the iPhone for personal use but the blackberry is good for business applications. Some prefer the hard keys vs the virtual screen keys. I'm not one of them. Overall, the good news is that competition is good for us all. -
Kids stole my man cave/office. but that aside, I could very easily make space, just like the convenience of having a very sizable amount of music in my pocket and don't care about the difference in sound. I listen to music on my computer, on my iphone, iphone via car and iphone via sound dock.

I am surprisingly at peace with this.
