oh, I like a well placed cover song.

Pretty cool... however, if Jay cared what people thought, he wouldn't allow that photo to be posted on the interweb.

I wouldn't say my favorite but a great duet: Jay Farrar/Kelly Willis - Rex's Blues

great interview...thanks. I'm pretty shocked at how much I actually liked it due to my slight aversion to Death Cab. It really turned out extremely well. Hope this helps propel Jay a bit.

First listen...definitely a bigger, more epic sound than I heard on the last one (Ep). At the same time, I hear some Neutral Milk instrumentation smattered around.

Ok, I'm in...I'll check it out tonight. By the by, checking out Evening Rig in St.Paul next month. This has never happened to me.

Really? I heard their last one and wasn't too blown away. Admittedly, I didn't spend much time with it. I'll have to check this out.

Happy belated Birthday Wendy!

WILCO - 10/18/09 UIC Pavillion, Chicago Night #1
myboyblue replied to Dude's topic in After The Show
We made a last minute decision to go and I'm glad we did. I am generally against the larger venues and haven't seen Wilco in a few years as a result. The sound wasn't great but they have transitioned to an arena band pretty well. Glenn is an absolute monster on the drums. -
I would so use your bathroom.

To suck us in, Lou...to suck us in!

I'm a fan, however, I do think some of his stage antics are theatre so I guess I am questioning his sincerity. I think it works and gets the fans into the show.

DBT opened... they played well but played too many slow songs. They never seemed to gain any momentum. Possible that DBT and THS had an agreement to tame down the opening act?

If you don't like them, you don't like them. I would say that YouTube probably isn't the place to properly listen to a new band though. I'm on board with the list that Cortez provided. If those don't hit you, you probably won't become a fan. As far as seeing them live, it certainly cemented it for me. I saw them live on the Boys & Girls tour and they killed. I also saw the DBT/THS tour and they blew DBT out of the water. Something I never thought I would say. Craig definitely has a bit of a theatrical side but he seems to be able to pull it off in the live atmosphere. Watching it

Nobody will believe that I was at the show if I don't take a photo or 400.

I can't believe that Tweedy has held out this long with a solo album. I'd love to see him put something stripped down, acoustic, out and tour smaller venues for a year or so. This!

Really? I think it's pretty damn good. It's on par with Zoysia for me. Although it isn't as great as Brooklyn Side, I think it's a return to form of some sort. Then again, i've loved probably 90% of their output.

Great band...it's been way too long. Looking forward to this. Hope to see them tour behind this.
