Wow, are you having a bad day thagle? Sunken Mtn., I think 29 rows back is indeed a ways back. In my experience, presales are not worth participating in vs. being online ready to buy tickets at the exact time when they officially go onsale. I have found that I'm almost always offered seats that are indeed not that good. But at least I've always known what the choice is upfront. A blind presale is a weird concept. All the best, I'm sure you won't make this mistake twice.

I can't listen to W(TS) without hearing the 'Colbert' lyrics in there, since that was the first time i heard them play it. Colbert loves you baby!

If you want the most out there in terms of guitar/vocals that Tweedy would latch onto,I'd say Temple of Low Men- Crowded House, is the place to start. Agree that True Colors is a great intro to Split Enz.

I wouldn't dream of it: Company in My Back Was I in Your Dreams Side With The Seeds

Wilco involved with Neil Finn project with Radiohead/Johnny Marr etc

I didn't, after landing in Christchurch some years ago -
We certainly know what Jeff thinks of chatty fans - as in Portland on the Pacific NW tour DVD

I wasn't so quick. The thread police are quite impressive. I am not worthy.

I saw a jam band a few nights ago and almost fell asleep.

I have to say, I appreciate how hard it is to start a new thread around this place. Thanks for keeping it organized moderators, but I'm glad this subject is back up top. -

Ok, here are the facts: 1) I've been listening to Neil Finn for over 20 years. Not that you need to care about that. 2) Some of this album was recorded in Roundhead Studios, Neil's studio in Auckland. 3) Most of Wilco went to New Zealand to be involved with the second 7 Worlds Collide project (Nels and Mikael weren't there) 4) They did 3 nights of live performances in Auckland at the Powerstation with the whole 7 Worlds Collide crew, including KT Tunstall, Bic Runga, Don McGlashan, Johnny Marr, Ed O'Brian, Liam Finn, and more. 5) Spencer Tweedy had an interesting time (based on -
Oh yeah, nice catch. I just compared them and I agree.

I was just going to post that after hearing it more closely now, but you beat me to it. The intro has Nick Drake-style finger picking, for sure.

That was 7 Worlds Collide Vol II project (to be released later this year to benefit Oxfam), led by Neil Finn (Crowded House, Split Enz). Wilco recorded alot of this album at Roundhead Studios in Auckland in early January. Nels and Mikael weren't there. http://www.oxfam.org.nz/index.asp?s1=what+...+Worlds+Collide I said this in earlier posts well buried by now, but I think W(TA) album has the New Zealand experience with Finn threaded through many of the songs. I've been a fan of his for years, so to me this is a nice thing. However, there is no doubt that Neil has 'pop' leanings, so if

I like playing that on guitar. It's the bom -G, bom -A, bom -A#, bom -B, bom -C riff, followed by 'was I in your dreams' that makes it. Groan worthy, not.

Ok, thread messers....I'm trying again I have always thought that there is too much Beatles influence in the Beatles catalog. Especially on Revolver and Rubber Soul. and Sgt. Pepper too. (after 999 listens, or more)

I wondered if it was a Theremin as well, but I hadn't thought about a saw. 'the Chet' of the Eels plays a saw once in awhile, and it does sound like that.

I want a new Wilco album every 6 months. But seriously, Being There is all over the map, and this is too, but I like that. I hate being postive though, but the sun is shining in Seattle today for a change, so what the hell.

Excellent - thanks for the heads up. I just saw both of these bands with Robyn Hitchcock not all that long ago. Fine stuff.

Hey, that's not my post!

I think it needs some JS Bach mixed in.

That one hasn't been released yet
