  1. also, there will be a hard CD release in January '08 according to a few diff articles
  2. Brian Jonestown Massacre: http://www.brianjonestownmassacre.com/mp3.html
  3. so i went to see Blitzen Trapper & Two Gallants the other night here in Minneapolis, and who did i see on the Blitzen Trapper guest list? "Ben Bridwell +1" i thought... huh, that's weird, maybe they just are great friends (they're both on Sub Pop) and put him on the guest list all the time. about 2 minutes later Ben comes in with his girlfriend... i guess she lives in Minneapolis and they met after the last Minneapolis show last year sometime. pretty cool. i didn't really wanna bother him but i did eventually say hello and that i was looking forward to their upcoming First Ave show.
  4. i'm sorry, but as a longtime Ryan defender, while i didn't attend this show due to the fact that his show in June was incredible and i didn't want to spoil that after 2 bad shows in a row (following 3 other incredible shows), Ryan is a professional musician, if he can't deal with sound issues now after over 15 years of professional touring, then he needs to grow up more than I thought.yes bad sound sucks, but you deal with it and move on. and so many people blame bad sound on the venues or their staff, but most of the time it's the band/artists own crew who have the biggest impact on how good
  5. the Kanye sample came after all that... they've been pretty fucking huge in the US in terms of live shows for a while now
  6. Homework was amazing, Discovery was pretty solid, but haven't liked that much since
  7. depends on the night. i've seen her do a great solo show and 2 so-so ones. both times i've seen with with a band though she's been fantastic
  8. most definitely worth seeing live... but if you're not too big on Alligator and don't even have Boxer, you may not like it...
  9. there's a few songs on the album that are better than the single Young Folks honestly... Objects of My Affection, Up Against The Wall, Let's Call It Off and Amsterdam to name a few
  10. Pitchfork just NOW find out about that?? wow http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertain...rogen-jon-.html among other sources dunno if i'd truly call The Shins "indie" though considering how much of SubPop is owned by a major...
  11. hmm... less than stellar? i quite like the Clientele and was super impressed by PB&J's set back in May
  12. far as i'm aware, the horns, like the first record, are sampled
  13. haha, no shit i think Andrew has sold about 45k of his last 2 albums?
  14. can't wait to see that DVD such an underrated band (over in the US anyway)
  15. i like it, but not as much as Veneer honestly. kinda feel like "more of the same" and doesn't really sound much different.
  16. while the last one wasn't great, it at least still had an edge, unlike most of this new one :/
  17. well initially, at least the Minneapolis show, was announced with Dr. Dog opening
  18. much more like the great first record rather than the somewhat disappointing second one: http://britishseapower.co.uk/mailinglistat...wnload/atom.mp3 At this point i think i still like Brakes more, but i'm excited to hear BSP's new stuff
  19. this one is a better record than the first, but the first has a couple better singles i think gets old after a while, but still a blast. they're really fun live too
  20. just now?? damn man, you've been missin' out all summer! but yes, yes it is... may very well be his best to date, which is saying a lot from me...
