Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" Announcement

or... how about that both Bruce & Petty owe a TON to Dylan, and thus draw similiar comparisons at times because their of their main influence? -
it's still their weakest album to date though, regardless of how bad or not bad it is... first 2 will likely always be tops for me. More Adventurous had some amazing songs but lots of crap too (Ripchord especially)

no, this is a "sequel"

Brendan hasn't worked with Pearl Jam since 1998... and probably for the worst too, they need to bring him back on board it sounds more like a sped up and heavier Tom Petty song than Pearl Jam to me (don't hear it really at all honestly) -
smallest? sure you're not talking about one of the smaller venues inside the Eagles Club? there's like 5 Wilco play venues smaller than the Eagles Ballroom just about everywhere... it holds a lot

first single, Radio Nowhere: http://www.mediafire.com/?5mnxjsjghl4 after a couple listens i dig it... nice little rocker -
it's just an average album unfortunately... starts off really great, first 3-4 songs, but it dives into pretty dull/mellow MOR stuff by the end and just lacks the great hooks of the first two overall. it's grown on me a bit, but still a disappointment after the great first 2.
-
i'd be fine if this one was "more about the hooks, melodies, and grooves", but the hooks just ain't there other than 2-3 songs... while the album as a whole isn't awful, there ARE definitely some truly awful songs on the album, that's for certain. as for the new NP's, Twin Cinema was, and still is, easily my least fave NP record, the new one is way way better, but still their 3rd best
-
i liked Cole's a lot... i LOVE this so far anyone whose voice reminds me of Lanegan's sometimes is NEVER a bad thing
-
yeah, but still... not the type of band/show you wanna see in a fancy theater imo i've seen them like 6-7x since '03, i think i'll live if i don't get to see this one
-
oof... $38 for a $23 ticket after TM, worse than i expected oh well, see ya next time guys guess i can always hope for guest list or cheap day of show
-
who listens to NP's for lyrics? they're all about the pop hooks! which Electric Version has coming out of its ears.
-
i know right???
-
well it's true... not to mention it'll prolly be $35-40 or some bullshit after fees for a show that should cost no more than $20-25
-
man... this bums me out a bit... i was super stoked about this show when i was told it would be at First Avenue, but now i have no interest in seeing this tour at a big seated theater there's clearly room for 2 nights here, why not just do 2 shows @ First Ave???
-
hmm... had heard this tour was happening but was told they'd be playing First Avenue in December... bummer, but still cool
-
an FYI about the Mpls show Spoon play their first of 2 nights at First Ave this night as well, you could probably pull off the double header. I'll be doing Wilco + Dr. Dog @ 400 Bar and then next night Spoon (early AA) + Sea Wolf @ Entry
-
http://www.reveillemag.com/news/news/wilco...inneapolis-date Dr. Dog also headline the 400 Bar later that night
