no it's not, the entire rest of the years touring is off now too
-
i didn't either until i got a package with a promo of the new one plus the new single he seemed to have sort of abandoned his one man band/looping thing in favor of more full band arrangements, but the songs just don't have the emotional depth that the last had at all. i'll give it another fair listen sometime, cuz i only listened 2 or 3 times, but i was shocked how little interest i had after the first

Muse are taking their spots
-
i LOVED the last one... but this one just isn't doing it for me at ALL yet unfortunately
-
fwiw, that rip above sounds god awful...
-
pretty sure this was all recorded this year... as for Ordinary People... have you never heard the song before today? just curious. edit: hmm... not sure what to think of this version... sounds like the E Street band at times. it's not bad, but does sound dated, which is odd for Neil... as for Pegi, she sounded good at Bridge in '01
-
not that it matters i suppose, but i'm pretty sure Jeff himself would even call Bruce a better lyricist than he himself is but no, maybe it's different over there, i dunno, but Bruce is widely considered to be a pretty great lyricist in the US, sometimes only second to Dylan
-
i just can't stand the strings or Bruce's voice (mostly how low it is in the mix, but still), it sounds so overproduced and fake to me. it suffers from the Aerosmith soundtrack song-itis.
-
pretty stunning imo... just gorgeous stuff. i need to pull it out again, been a while
-
those were announced 2 weeks ago or so, so no, no Mpls show
-
they're a ton of fun, especially live. one of the dudes in the band is from Faith No More, not sure if he's still in the band though, i saw 'em a few years ago
-
hmm... i don't think i recall anyone ripping on it above...
-
i like this more than the last BSS (which was great, just produced terribly) bummed/annoyed they/he aren't coming here this tour
-
really? Detlef?? :/ that song reminds me of some bad ironic country song from the mid-80's i guess :/ my favorites are No One's Gonna Love You, Marry Song, and Is There A Ghost. Lamb has some pretty harmonies, but musically it bores me. i like Ode to LRC, but those lyrics are pretty bad if you listen to 'em closely i think the loss of Matt Brooke (who wrote a few songs on EATT and co-wrote a ton) is more important than i'd initially thought (which at first i didn't care, cuz i like Ben more). and the fact that Ben is the only member left (makes you wonder...) i agree about less reverb
-
oof, no way... there's definitely a handful of worse songs... the title cut is pretty schmaltzy i'd prolly give it a 6.5-7 currently
-
fair enough if you feel that way, but Brendan O'Brien is not known for "muddy production" other than a few songs on here i don't find much to be "muddy" sounding, same with The Rising (especially this one). Didn't listen to Devils more than a half a dozen times so i can't defend that one. that said, there's a good rip out there that does sound way better than the one that leaked yesterday
-
it's his voice on track 4... it sounds just shitty, super mumbly, and it's way low in the mix. not to mention the strings on that song (or most of the record, they sound sterile and fake). it reminds me of a song that'd be written for a blockbuster movie soundtrack. tell me those opening strings on "Last To Die" don't sound lame? as for the "muddy production", let's wait until we hear a no-web rip to judge that

Terry's Song saves the second half of this album
-
late 80's early 90's, sorry, i forgot Human Touch/Lucky Town were '92, was thinking they were '88 or '89 there were plenty of awful songs on Tunnel of Love too (among the great songs)
-
no way... it's not GREAT, but FAR far from the worst thing he's put to disc, you need to go back and revisit his 80's records my friend the lyrics to it are still good
-
Livin' In THe Future is definitely total classic Bruce + E Street. the song that follows it however is horrid the album is pretty good, but hit or miss
-
love that dude
-
pretty cool album. Objects of My Affection is so badass... def my fave song on there. they're killer live too.
-
wish i could say the same... it's not that i dislike it though, just doesn't excite me or interest me even remotely as much as ETATT did out of the gate. like the new Rogue Wave i ask: where are the killer hooks? plus the energy is down a good deal. but it joins a number of records that i've been let down by a bit the last few months so i'm not that surprised.
