have only heard various songs from that Twilight Sad EP it on Sirius and WOXY, but i like it a lot
-
still doesn't even remotely touch Coachella this year but then again, that's in 2 weeks, not exactly summer
-
true, thus why i spent $60 to see him w/ Norah Jones in a few weeks it's not as great as Coachella's lineup this year (yet anyway), no doubt, but i got tix for $65 for all 3 days and it's within driving distance and i have a free place to stay... so IF i end up even going, i think it's a pretty nice lineup, hehe
-
right, this is just the initial lineup don't expect Arcade Fire, but won't be surprised if Wilco are added can't see Matt really playing Lolla, not his scene/style at all, nor would i care to see him there really

i was happy to hear how tight it was, because Andrew has a tendency to sing things with odd phrasing, especially compared to the records, and leave out a number of words, but it was damn good last night
-
loved every bit of it minus the fairly abrupt ending great choice on the suites!
-
yeah, easily their best
-
not a bad 2 to have/know
-
for those not familiar w/ Low, check out "Things We Lost In The Fire" you mean slowcore?
-
nope after Never Gonna Change he said "that was a Drive By-Truckes song" and then commented about The Assassin, and how his "good friend Patterson Hood" wrote this amazing song, but "didn't really play it much anymore, so he said it was cool if i played it" i think the initial decision and timing probably surprised/hurt Jason, but I have a feeling w/ the dust settles, i don't think either side will be that harsh in passing blame on how it came about. it's not like i can't see them sharing the stage in the future.
-
it's by Stephen Thomas Erlewine, who is a major toolshed you'd think Conor fucked his wife from that review
-
i mean i can see not gushing over them, but what about them or their music is even remotely offensive??
-
the new Feist is great, but i wish it had a bit more uptempo/fun stuff like the last one, as i get a bit tired by the end of it. but it is very very gorgeous stuff and definitely a better all around album.
-
^^ pfork totally missed the mark w/ that review today, they must hate hippies
-
Jason was fucking stellar tonight opening for Son Volt. setlist: Try Grown (both new songs sounded a lot better live) God Damn Lonely Love Ain't Never Gonna Change The Assassin (w/ a nice comment about Patterson before it) Magician (this one was kinda boring) Dress Blues Jailbreak (smokin' Thin Lizzy cover) Chicago Promenade (jason on keys, sounded real nice live)
-
it's a pretty good song lyrically, but it deserved to be a hidden track or a b-side, cuz it didn't fit the sound of that record at all, and it drug down the entire 2nd half of an already watered down/weak album. but best song on the record? not even close for me...
-
attachments are only allowed in certain areas of the forum not allowed in Umm... what section are you trying to post it in?
-
it wasn't nearly as boring as "Space City", now that song was a fucking snorer but yeah, after i heard about Jason & Shonna's divorce a few weeks ago (apparently it happened around this time a year ago), i sorta wondered what might come of it, but everyone was told apparently it wouldn't effect things... the thing about Isbell & DBT is... prior to him joining the band, they were just a GOOD band for me... his presence on record and ESPECIALLY at their live shows, cemented them as one of my favorite live bands around... so it's hard to say that dynamic isn't going to change. other

it could go either way... but Zwan, while i liked a few songs on the record a lot, their one full length just wasn't all that great. It was however, loads better than the last 3 Pumpkins records (i'm including Machina II) Zwan had so much material that never got recorded (or at least released), much of which was way better than the actual Mary Star record.

ah shit, that's who opened up in Duluth last summer, not Retribution, i forgot. thanks for reminding me that and i wasn't actually at the show
-
oh how come you'd have to go through Ticketmaster? does the Ogden not have a box office?
