the melodies are similar, yes was one of the first things i noticed first time i heard the record
-
this is a record i could actually play for my wife and she might not throw it out the window like his past stuff
-
you mean you'd prefer if he just spat and did his goatboy impression like prior to the last 3 records? personally i think his voice has never sounded as good as it does (but then again i fucking hated his voice before Lifted, and even part of it)
-
this is really sweet so far... easily his biggest and most lush production to date. some of the strings sound a bit much/cheesy at times, but it's a minor complaint. and you're right, he really has toned down his annoying goatboy voice!
-
yeah, 4th time was a charm i guess...
-
it's still not legit (it's gone already)
-
there was a benefit here for him on St. Paddy's day too. the D Plan ones are huge tho
-
no, because it's not worth it that and most big beasties fans i know agree with me, so... yeah, i quite liked that one myself...
-
compared to the last one, Hello Nasty was a downright classic!!
-
yeah, it was sold on the tour opening for w/ Iron & Wine (which you came up to Mpls for Daniel ) i bought a copy of it, but yeah, wasn't until i first heard Everything All The Time that i really fell for them
-
yeah, that sounds sweet edit: suck, only one US instrumental show date :*( sure hope this new one is better than the last :/
-
they are not kept, no but i'm no longer deleting inactive accounts
-
best album title in a long long while yep. but i love Moonlight too. and i'm with you, as good as Gimme Fiction is, it seemed like Spoon-lite to me always, i dunno. hoping for better things from this one.
-
yes, yes it is... took me a couple listens but now i love it really need to see her next month. it sold out in like 2 days amazingly listening to EITS live from DC on npr right now . see them Thur night. still a bit disappointed w/ the new one, but really only in contrast to their previous 2 moreso.
-
i'm not too hot on it as the title of AF's record, but blame this guy:
-
listening to the tracks on her site right now, digging it she had quite the presence last night for just her and her guitar (and occasional harmonica). the last song she did was a capella as well, very cool.

Black Francis - Bluefinger this sounds like it was almost meant to be a new Pixies record
-
weak or not, it still has a handful of truly great songs... i think i prefer the new one to Have You Fed The Fish and for me it's about on par w/ 1+1. he just set the bar a bit too high w/ Bewilderbeast unfortunately, and will spend the rest of his career in the shadow of that record for me. but i still like him a lot, and he's gotten waaaaaaaaay better live in the last few years since those first 2 times i saw him. his voice is much much stronger, and he's a lot more professional and happy onstage.
-
the surgery he's having is sinus surgery, probably similiar to what Jeff had a while back, so hopefully he'll be healed and ok in a month. it'd be a pretty huge deal for them to cancel out of Coachella, but i suppose Wilco did it before so it's not out of the question.

good record indeed, just doesn't have any of the highs of the first 2 EP's besides Firecracker, and nowhere near one of the best records this year, which i was pretty sure it had a lock on going in... it was probably my most anticipated album this year too. it's gonna get pretty mediocre/mixed reviews unfortunately
-
just from that preview article alone, i'm hoping i like this more than the last 2
-
still a top 5 post 2000 for me
