I'm glad that I waited to purchase this thing until the Deluxe version became available (for the same price as the original): -

Your children's taste in music

And now, in the last few days, my older son has become obsessed with Violent Femmes. Walking around the house singing "Kiss Off" and "Add It Up." "I just can's stop! Those songs are so damn catchy! "They're great!!!!" -
Just watched it. Pretty awesome.

Checking this one out on Spotify right now: https://play.spotify.com/album/1dQ0f8YdSsQA8j2Iz1N1Vr The classic one -- The Crazy World of Arthur Brown -- not on there. I feel like I should know more.

Who is it? What is it? Oh, and blur your eyes a little and it looks like a close-up shot of a vagina.

Are we in a new golden age of mainstream pop?

Oh yeah, I like Imagine Dragons, too. But the rest of that top 10 (aside from Lorde) is pretty much shit. -

Well, all I know is that one single. But (IMO) it's a damn good single. Although, it has lost a bit of context -- or, rather, gained a new unforfunate one -- thanks to Miley Cyrus. That, and the inevitable overplay of commercial radio. -
I mean, there is always a fair share of crap out there on the charts, and the current day is no exception. However, there also seems to be a lot more QUALITY, even great stuff on the charts these days: • Daft Punk • Janelle Monae • Fun. • Adele • Lourde • Robin Thicke There are more too that I am forgetting, I am sure. But... I am surprised at just how much quality stuff has displaced a lot of the crap on the radio. There will always be room for the Biebers and Mileys, of course. Am I crazy?
