  1. Listening to Sea Change now (for the first time) and enjoying the hell out of it. I might start to care.
  2. I am really hoping to see her when she comes through Chicago, but I probably won't be able to.
  3. Peter Laughner A founding member of Pere Ubu, The Dead Boys, and Rocket From the Tombs. He killed himself before any of those bands could achieve any type of notoriety. A troubled, troubled soul. But also an incredible songwriter and stunning guitar player.
  4. My band's first album came out 10 years ago. That band is now pretty much just me, but I am playing a show to celebrate that first album's release, anyway. Details: http://www.facebook.com/events/1408956699348542/ Hope that some of you, locally will join me. 10. Saw then at the Lounge Ax in Chicago back in the 90s. Excellent band.
  11. I've heard OF several of these, but don't know that I've actually heard any of them.
  12. I wouldn't be so vain as to think that I was the ONLY one who knows them, but lesser known, for sure. In no particular order: Shrimp Boat -- the original band of Sam Prekop (The Sea and Cake)The Flavor Channel -- another Chicago band from the 90sMartin Newell/Cleaners From Venus -- English home recording maven who has worked with Andy Partridge (XTC)Tom Zé -- Brazilian Tropicalia madman© -- Vancouver post-punk bandFrederick Knight -- Deep south soul singer who had a minor hit with "I've Been Lonely For So Long"Falstaff -- The offshoot band from Shrimp Boat (above) who is NOT The Sea and
