Phil A - Sing Along Until You Feel Better Fucking brilliant album of pure Beatlesque pop songs that a friend of mine just released. Produced by Ken Stringfellow (Posies). Amazing backstory behind this one, too. I think I've shared it with you all before. But, now it's done, released, and goddamn good! and then...

I said the same thing to my wife, while we were watching. She just rolled her eyes at me.

Lots o' folks called the game "boring". Personally, I enjoy watching a dominant defense. And, with the multitude of ways that the Seahawks found to score, I would hardly say that it was a boring game. One-sided? Duh! But not boring.

Charlie: Thanks SO much for that YouTube! That was awesome! Just a joy! -
I won't say that he made a fan out of me. He didn't. His recorded material still leaves me totally flat. But I'll be damned if Bruno can't bring it, live.

You just outed yourself as a comic geek. And, I guess that I just did, too. (Or, once-upon-a comic geek, really.) And that guitar that Dylan is playing in that pic is NOT the guitar that I want. That's a '72; I ordered a '69. I am not a fan of Fender humbuckers. And yeah, it's been just about a year. I guess they only do periodic production runs of this model. Have to set up the line and all that. The reason I've been so patient is because this is the guitar that I have wanted for some 20 years. I've waited this long just to be able to afford to set aside little bits of money for the guit -
I think it is. There are different criteria for "favorite" and "best". "Best" implies some sort of objective criteria are being applied. "Favorite" gives not a whiff of shit about objectivity; it's all about what moves you.

Ann Sathers is the classic in that neighborhood, but I was just around there recently and had an AMAZING breakfast at a place called m. henry. Creative and delicious. If you are a fan of sweet items, like pancakes, for breakfast, their "Bliss Cakes" are a revelation! Amazing! Also, the breakfast stuffed poblano pepper is insane. Only been there the once, but I will definitely go back when I am on the North Side around that time again. Yum. http://www.mhenry.net -

Got word that my guitar was delayed again: until APRIL. I fired off an angry email to customer service and just heard back: I should have my guitar within the next week. "I don't know where you heard April from, but it's getting ready to ship now." I'll believe it when I see it. I'm breathing a little. -
Yup. Not "best." Favorite.

I met Lyle Mays once, backstage at at Pat Metheney show that I was working. Very gracious. And when he shook my hand, he could've wrapped his fingers around my arm six times! Incredibly long, long fingers.

Another example of why I love Bob Andrews: Just heard an interview with Nick Lowe and, apparently his piano part on this was a first take. They played it for him in the studio a couple of times; he said "Okay, I think I've got it now!"; and then he played THIS!!! Jeezus. I didn't even realize that it was him playing the part until just now (I am listening to a Nick Lowe interview as I type this, wherein he relates the story I told you, above.) So freaking good.
