  1. Too hard. And, although, while I may not choose them, I would definitely add: Los Lobos and Yo La Tengo to the choices.
  2. Just ordered Demolition Expert. Cannot wait to hear Ford's own version of "Ju Ju Man" -- my favorite song of his. (And one of my favorites of all time.)
  3. I had no idea that this album even existed. No idea that Butler and Anderson reunited. So, as a fan of Suede, I was extremely interested. And then, there's this review Interest piqued. Purchase made. Anyone else have this or interested?
  4. They have some of the best song titles. "Your Fucking Sunny Day" "My Face, Your Ass" Love it.
  5. Oceania released Nov. 1 (per AllMusic.com). Who knew? EDIT: Nevermind. It looks like it's actually coming out next year. AMG strikes again.
  6. Although, it was nice to be able to have a centralized location for all the news/media and stuff, I'm not so sure that it was generating enough traffic to make it worthwhile to maintain. Most of it was 'bots and spiders. Plus, with a Facebook page and a Bandcamp page, and all the other sundry deposits for band stuff... Have any of y'all had a website that you let expire? Or have you never had one? If you do have one, is it really worth maintainting? Why?
  7. My favorite album is not really the popular or critical choice, but I think that Electr-o-Pura is a great place to start (and it's my favorite) because it really shows all sides of the band: the quiet, sleepy late-night songs ("The Hour Grows Late"), the noisy ravers ("Blue Line Swinger"), and the concise pop songs ("Tom Courtenay"). All together in one handy collection!!! I also think that the more-recent I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass does the same thing, just about as well. (But I've lived with Electr-o-Pura ten years longer, so that remains my choice and my favorite!) An
  8. Hey, Winston Legthigh: What'd you think? Where were your seats? Anything that he didn't play that you wanted to hear? Me: "Picture Book" "Thanksgiving Day" (which I thought he was going to do after that Alex Chilton story) But, really, no complaints at all. Any other VCers there besides the 2 of us?
  9. So, this video appears to have been taken a few rows back from where I sat. Except my seats were dead-center. So awesome!
  10. Nice. Oddly, there are a couple of newer, solo songs that I really hope that he plays: "Sane" and "Thanksgiving Day" Neither are on that set list, but I hope that they make it in tonight.
  11. Happy Nigel Day, everyone! In honor of the day, enjoy this clip. I had never seen it before somebody posted it at Facebook today: Nige actually held his own pretty well with the old master.
  12. Easily the best. I stopped reading the comics when Watterson threw in the towel.
  13. This description intrigues me. Very, very much. Nice one. I'll have to check it out!
  14. Jon Spencer Blues Explosion They grabbed a pretty big cult following in the mid-90's: one of those bands that you would have gotten sick of hearing about on boards like these (had they existed at the time). But now? They just kinda went away, even if they still are making music.
