Hey! Welcome to March.

As a Chicago guy and lifetime Blackhawks fan, this Olympic final was a real treat. One of the best games that I have ever seen, period... no matter the venue. Now... back to the most-exciting NHL season (for me) since Belfour was in the net. Really, since Mikita. Oh, and congratulations, Canada! It was awesome watching those celebrations.

Lonoong SONGS that you wish would go on even longer

Great call. Is that song really almost 7 minutes long? -
Is that Sixto Rodriguez? Something new from him?

My gmail exchange with my somellier friend, Josh: ******** ******** Just wanted to add the "expert's" opinion on here. As much for his knowledge of spirits as for his suggestion of places to go in Chi-town (Chicago folk).

Lonoong SONGS that you wish would go on even longer

I'm thinking that if Verlaine's guitar solo went on for an extra 2 minutes or so during "Marquee Moon" (Television) it would not be a bad thing in the least. -
Normally, I'm not a big fan of long songs. Because, usually they are just wankfests with pointless jamming and shit. Boring. However... "Tender" by Blur At 8:00 long, it is still far too short. I can listen to that one forever.

Although Songs In the Key Of Life is absolutely just perfect, I do prefer when a band leaves me wanting more... at least on a single listen.

I tried one of those at my local guitar shop. Plugged a Tele into it, LOVED it! But my amp is this one: Peavy Delta Blues 115. It's 30 watts and a single 15" speaker. Plenty loud (that 15" cone can push a lot of air), with a really punchy low end response. I scoop out the EQ on it and it sounds so, so sweet.

It went okay. Decent crowd, but I think that I played better in my life. In fact, I know that I have. Still, folks in the crowd seemed to think that I sounded good. (A lot of conversation while I was playing, though...) Anyway, it's just good to get out, behind a mic, and in front of a crowd again. Good luck on your new album!

Since I don't drink much, I'll probably do with whiskey like I do with beer... just buy the expensive stuff every now and then and enjoy the hell out of it. I also sent an email to a friend of mine who is a sommellier; see what he can tell me.

So, last night I had a craving for some Jameson. Not sure why, other than the Frank McCourt pub crawl special that I saw on PBS a little while ago. Because I have never drank Jameson. And, in fact, I am not much of a drinker (especially hard liquor) at all. But, I got a glass -- neat. And I sipped on it over the course of the night and enjoyed the hell out of it! There is a lot of vanilla in the nose but, as it sat in my glass, it opened up to some hints of maple, as well. Just incredibly soothing and enjoyable on a February night. Looks like I found a new favorite. Any other whiskey

What Beatles song would you most like to see Wilco cover??

"Hey Bulldog" Just thinking about Jeff playing that riff makes me nod my head and say, "Yes! Yes, that would be quite awesome, indeed." -

Francis Ford Coppola (Apocalypse Now) Warren Beatty (Bullworth, Reds) And... Riefenstahl and D.W. Griffith were the first ones to come to my mind, as well.
