I've been searching desperately for a reasonably priced copy of this one: Eno is a full-on genius in my world, and anything looking to have some sort of insight into the inner workings of his mind, is a must-read. I'm just not willing to pay $100 for a hardcover, or $44 for a used paperback. But the fucking thing is out of print. Damnit. Any leads?

I guess that I'll post links to streaming sounds from my old, defunct bands, too. Just so that somebody will listen to these songs: eLeMeNO (my first-ever band) Cash Cow (an old punk band) ChewToy (another punk band) And, then, I already posted the links to Hop On Pop. (multiple times!)

An incredibly entertaining read: He was an angry man. And there is a lot of bile in this book, but a lot of humor, too. I love what he had to say about Mingus and Monk. (Monk was a weirdo, and Mingus was a big, intimidating man.) Some great stories. EDIT: I need to re-read this.

I've only listened to that Pleasant Grove record a couple of times, but it is a good one. I need to pull it out more often. Today's selections: Jimmy Cliff (et. al) - The Harder They Come (OST) Happy Ashtray - Weathervane Golden Smog - Weird Tales The Kinks - Kinda Kinks

You ALL need to go to THIS THREAD and follow the instructions, if you have not done so already. It will make it a lot easier for all of us to hear your bands, if we all have stuff in a central location. And no, I do not work for them.

Is it a Gretsch acoustic? It kinda has that look to it. They didn't make a lot of them, but what I remember seeing of them, they kinda had that look: that pickguard style, and I've seen that color/finish. Maybe a Kay?

I just bought Out of the Cradle and am giving it a first listen now, and... DAMN! This just sounds so damn dated and... not... good. Like the early 90's adult alternative that it is. Don't know why I would have thought differently, but there it is. At least I didn't pay much for it. Disappointed.

Sure. Skip Sunshine. Moss... it's your turn, take it yourself. If you don't want it, Kramon... you can grab it.

Looks great. But... nobody did "Illegal Smile"?

Anyone else out there married to a "basement musician"?
PopTodd replied to AJ673's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
My wife is married to one, too. -
I saw him a few years ago when he did Dark Side Of the Moon. It was spectacular. Roger sounded great. His backing band was aces. And the visuals that he worked up for the show were amazing. Yeah, he had the flying pig with him and there was also a Super-HD screen on stage that had 3D imagery without any 3D glasses. Pretty amazing stuff. But the important thing -- the music -- sounded outstanding.

Just added "Starfighter (City In the Sky)" to the VC page, Dan. Nice work. Very atmospheric and moody.

Atticus: Are you just going around bumping all of my old threads?

Oh, I did rent it around the time that I made the thread here. It held up. Too much fun.

Seriously, my wife and I laughed our asses off. And, so did our kids (ages 8 and 10). It's in Chicago and this is the description from their website: Here's the website: http://www.barrelofmonkeys.org/performances/ And, for the record, I am not affilliated with them in any way, shape, or form. I just took the family on a whim yesterday and had a great time. So, I wanted to tell y'all about it, if you live nearby and have kids to take. That is all.

Weren't the Rolling Stones celebrating their 25th anniversary or so, when folks started making "Steel Wheelchair" jokes? Hard to think of REM the same way, but... damn.
