  5. I've been a member for a few years now. I love it, too. I have it on every morning and afternoon, during my commute. And, my 10-year-old son is a big Garrison Keillor fan; just thinks that he's funny. (He is.) A few months back, just before he died, they ran a wonderful interview with Jim Dickinson on Weekend Edition. I'll have to dig that up and post it here (if I didn't already... I may have.)

  7. I think that it may be their best album yet. It's definitely one of their best. It's more straight-ahead rock than any of their other albums... the least amount of odd East Indian goings-on; the sitars and whatnot are more for decoration and less the focus of the songs. But the songs themselves are some of the strongest, hookiest that the band has ever recorded.
  8. The one that I wrote that review for contains the ORIGINAL Funky Kingston and In the Dark albums (original Jamacian tracks and running order, per the liner notes). So, yeah, it has all the tracks like you mentioned. So damn good.
  9. Just acquired and np (in honor of 4/20): Roky Erickson - True Love Cast Out All Evil This is so much better than I anticipated.
  10. Of course, GtrPlyr nails it. All that! He mentioned Toots & The Maytals, and for me, this album was a complete revelation: My Amazon review of this record:

  12. Nice performance, Ghost. Happy to hear that you are the electric guitar player because, for me, that was the best part of the song. You are an excellent, intuitive player. I really like your style. (And the guitar, itself, is beautiful, too!)
