"Rocks Off" - The Rolling Stones (Exile On Main Street) The snare shot heard around the world, and probably the single greatest single snare hit in the history of recorded music: ba-da-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-da-da POW!!! "Get Ready For Love" - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Abbatoir Blues) Another, raging opening track... gospel choirs, distorted slide guitar, and Nick's baritone. "Pumpkin Lover" - Shrimp Boat (Cavale) Just the way it falls together, from a skittering, almost tenative guitar riff, to when the rest of the band kicks in, and it all magically falls into place. Magic.

We have some temps working here for a bit, and one of them, it turns out, is the daughter of Jack Daniels... the author of Tyrone Davis' big hit, "Turn Back the Hands Of Time". I didn't think that I had ever heard it before, until I went to go listen to the samples. Fucking great song. I think that I need to go back and pick up the album. Any of y'all own it? Opinions?

Listening to OutSpaced now, and I CANNOT get to that "Track 0". Is it because I am listening on iTunes on my computer? Will that prevent me from getting to it? Do I need to put the fucker into a regular home CD player?

Inspired by this happening (from my Now Playing for today): What are your all-time favorite "HIDDEN" tracks? Those songs not listed on the album sleeve, or tacked on to the end of a CD, after an annoyingly long silence.../ Mine: "Train In Vain" - The Clash "Nothing Compares 2U" - Falstaff and I know there are a few more, too... that's why I'm looking to you. Somebody should do a total mixtape of JUST hidden tracks. And, if I may be so bold... "The Yummy Song" - Hop On Pop (sorry, I just like this one)
-
Just arrived: There is a hidden track at the end that is one of my favorite things this band has ever done: a live version of "Nothing Compares 2U" I remember watching them do this one at Phyllis', with an accordian and loving it! I just wish that I could edit my mp3 rip to separate this fucker from the track as a whole. Nonetheless, this is one of my favorite hidden tracks, ever. YES!!!

I think that all the musicians on this board tend to shamelessly self promote. Especially right when we finish a record. I think that we all just want to be heard.

Howdy! I'm a 39 year old musician from the Chicago area, who saw Wilco's first-ever Chicago show (maybe their first-ever show, period?) -- at the Lounge Ax in 1994 or 1995. Also saw Uncle Tupelo before they even released No Depression. So yeah, I've been a fan for a while, too. Oh, and I also take some occasional heat for street teaming my own band. So, I guess that makes me something of a hypocrite. Sorry about that. Anyway, welcome to the board. Looking forward to hearing more from you. And... where in Chicago are you from?

I absolutely adore this stuff. First had it when on my honeymoon in Italy, and have pretty much had it in my house for the occasional quaff ever since. I think of this now, because I just picked up a bottle of homemade cream limoncello as a gift for some friends and it was beyond amazing. Dangerous, even, as it went down so sweet and smooth. Any other fans?
