whoops. I thought that I remembered hearing that he did. But that news was just, apparently, the exact opposite: he has a new album out. Sorry. That was a really shitty mistake.

Dancing Partner by Joe Pisapia The day I went to visit her Soon after she turned ninety-four The coffee and the Entenman's We talked as if we were old friends She filled me in on gossip All the seniors in the complex We talked about the days gone by And then she told me with a sigh, It's been twenty-seven years He's passed away It still feels like yesterday The conversation turned to love As any long talk always does She asked about my situation Was there someone I was dating I told her of a pretty girl Who's teaching me to dance She told me how she love to dance But only with one ma

The greatest Rock and Roll song of all time

I think that opinion stems more from overplay than anything else. It's certainly not my favorite Chuck Berry song either (that would be "You Never Can Tell"). But, that opening riff alone makes it his greatest, period. -

Tell me why it's NOT "Johnny B. Goode" and I'll tell you why you're wrong. Johnny B. Goode may not be the first rock n roll song ever recorded, but it is Ground Zero for all rock n roll that came after. -

Okay, so not so brand new, but... "If You're Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To)" I'm not the biggest Weezer fan, a couple of songs from the first one are still fun to listen to. Other than that they pretty much define "meh". And (more than) occasionally suck. But the chorus in that new song is fucking epic. I am not tempted to buy the record (yet). But, damn that new single is so freaking good. One of those songs that I am compelled to sing along to in the car.

Being at work, I cannot see your video, so I don't know what song you posted. But, for my money, it's probably one of these: "Ju Ju Man" by Jim Ford (as performed by Brinsley Schwarz) "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry "Rocks Off" by The Rolling Stones "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin That is, assuming that we are talking about ROCK and not just popular music of the rock era. -
I've had a few people recommend this guy to me at various points in time. I really should get around to listening to some of his stuff. Is this record a good place to start or are there other records that would be better? Thanks for reminding me, by the way.

Well, he does it at our local community theater (which has a pretty great reputation) and he loves it. Thanks to a referral from one of his directors there, he was invited to audition for the Chicago on Broadway production of Billy Elliot last week. HE GOT A CALLBACK!!! I took him for his second audition last night. At the frikkin Oriental Theater! We find out in a couple of days whether or not he gets to play the role of Billy's best friend Michael. Due to child labor laws, they need several actors to play the role, so we'll see... He had a blast at the auditions and has a great attitud

Monkey Man can be slid anywhere onto any (rock/pop) mix tape ever made and sound amazing -- fit right in. Try it. Just throw it onto any (rock-based) mix that you're making and hear the magic! Love that song. I'm glad you are a monkey woman, too.

The guy won a frikkin' PULITZER for crying out loud. His reviews are consistently entertaining reading. He put out a book with this title: Plus, he did Oprah and talks about it freely. Go Roger!!! So, let's talk about Rog in here. Because he's cool.
