  1. It was at the Impossible Project's New York space - 425 Broadway. Link I'm not in any of the shots, though I might have snapped a quick iPhone selfie or two with Nels and Pat in the background. Like I said, it was really laid back so nobody was posing with the guys for photos, etc. Pat signed everyone's book and was very gracious. Nels bought a couple of books and got them signed, too (you can see Pat signing his in one of the shots).
  2. Held this past Thursday (10/14). Nels and Mikael showed up too. Very cool, laid-back event on a rainy night. Some of my photos are linked below (they are simulated Polaroids in keeping with the spirit of the event). Photos
  3. Thanks Brennan and Brennan's Mom! I have more to add from Wilco and Tweedy from Solid Sound, as well as some from the Philadelphia Folk Festival. I just can't keep up. Check back from time to time at My Site
  4. Brennan, Thanks so much for your awesome recording. I can't stop playing it in my car! -Josh jsarnerphoto.com
  5. Hey, nice shots JRB - and cool idea to add a slide show - why didn't I think of that? Hope you don't mind me stealing using your idea... http://www.flickr.com/photos/joshuasarner/sets/72157624623105505/
  6. Thank you! You can see more HERE (I have a lot of catching up to do between Solid Sound and PFF).
  7. I was there as well and that was such a touching moment - he was so genuinely sorry that he had upset your son. Jeff also seemed to be in very good spirits - I've never seen him smile that much during the songs. It was also a funny moment when those of us who were at solid sound realized he flubbed "Muzzle of Bees" again and called him on it. Speaking of bees, when people began shouting requests, he feigned being offended, saying that it meant that we didn't like the setlist to that point. He said "c'mon, I'm risking my life up here," explaining that there was a "very aggressive bee" flyi
  8. Thanks - Just put up a bunch more this morning. Loving this one right now....
  9. Hazel has crystallized my thought perfectly. Such an incredible weekend. Sorry for the double post, but in case anyone wants to see my slowly expanding photo gallery, CLICK HERE Here's a quick sample:
  10. Actually, the Nels autograph wasn't as bad as it looked. I used a blower on the paint chips and carefully cleaned the streaks/smudges and it came out looking pretty darn nice. I felt like I was restoring a Rembrandt!
  11. I had such an incredible time this weekend that it already feels like a dream. Thanks to all who helped me hold my spot, etc. because my friend bailed on me at the last minute. Thanks to some great people, I never felt alone. Since the shows themselves have left me speechless, I thought I'd share my photos (for those of you that didn't get my card). I have been processing all day and it will literally take me weeks to get through them all, but I have some early favorites up at jsarnerphoto.com - keep checking back. I also put a little taste below. Lastly, a special thanks to Nels and Jo
  12. My wife had to bail on me for work. IF you are interested, email me at jsarner@yahoo.com. If we have a deal, send payment via PayPal and I will leave your ticket for you at the front desk of my hotel in Bennington, VT - 18 miles from festival. I will be arriving at the hotel between 4-5 tomorrow (Friday) - the show starts at 8. Thanks.
  13. I'll have to retract my statement for now - I saw it referred to in another post that I can't find at the moment (as a lawyer, I should know better than to post hearsay!) I hope that I misread or misinterpreted the post because, as I said, that would be a shame. Sorry if I have offended anyone. Hey look at this cool picture I took of Nels Cline! (Trying some misdirection here)
  14. At least one - there was a nice rig set up in the right section of the $100 seats. I was so completely blown away by the show that I introduced myself to the taper afterward and asked if he'd be posting it anywhere - I mentioned it was the best show I'd ever seen. He said he's probably put it out there. That was before I discovered that there had been some sort of rift on this board between the tapers and the other members. It's such a shame that happened - I'd give anything to hear that performance again (and not just because my request was played!). It was perfect in every way.
  15. Someone's request on the list taken before the show was "either Ashes of American Flags or Single Ladies." Everyone expected the former, but he must have printed out Single Ladies when he saw that request. It was also hilarious that he had to "google [his] own song" ("Shakin' Sugar/ Alone).
  16. Thank you. That one was used for Rolling Stone's review: Article Link HERE: Screen Print:
  17. Thanks! I wanted to bring my real camera but I called the Vic and they said small point-n-shoots only so I didn't bother. But when I stepped outside after being completely blown away by the performance, I had to grab something to preserve the moment (I have a horrific memory - hence the desperate plea for the tape!). I snapped that shot just as my iPhone battery was going dead and did a little editing on the plane ride home. I hope there is a more liberal camera policy in Montclair, NJ or Hartford, CT - like there was in Wappingers Falls and Beacon, NY (see horribly compressed, forum-compliant
  18. Yes, I'm Josh - good memory! Although I felt more like "even Steven" since all the snafus worked out for me. In fact, my first request (Gun) had already been picked so I changed it. As it turned out, Gun wasn't played. As for the recording, I introduced myself to one of the tapers after the show and pretty much begged him to post it when he's done with it. He said he'd "probably put it out there somewhere" or something to that effect. I don't spend a lot of time on this board, but I've seen his name around here and he's put out some exquisite recordings in the past. I hope he is kind enough
  19. Had an incredible time at this show. I flew in from NYC just to see it (an impulse booking) and managed to attend despite everything conspiring against me. New York had a crazy wind storm and my original Saturday afternoon flight got canceled on Thursday night (which I didn't find out about until Friday afternoon). I got the last seat on another airline for a Saturday morning flight, which wound up being one of the few flights that got out of LaGuardia before the winds hit. After all that, I was still there early enough to get my request played (Blasting Fonda) and had amazing seats amon
  20. **TRADED** NO LONGER AVAILABLE (Thanks Andy) I'm going both nights - wanted to see one show from the floor and one from balcony but could only get balcony for both nights in the presales. Would prefer 1 floor ticket + cash but will do a 2 for 2 trade. I'm only looking for floor ticket(s) for Friday, need to keep my Saturday balcony tix. TIA.
  21. Thanks. I was told "no cameras with detachable lenses." That's a new one on me. I told the guy that the band allows and encourages still photography of all kinds and that I've never had a problem with that exact gear at other shows. I also said that I reviewed the posted security rules for the venue before coming (because I don't want to leave expensive equipment in my car) and that the rules said nothing about cameras. Finally, I just told told him that my lens was stuck on and I couldn't remove it.
