2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!
The High Heat replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Gonna take a whole lot more than someone like Willingham to pry Greinke out of KC, and I'd bet DC does not want to part with Storen. That report isn't rumors, they're fairy tales. The only thing in there that makes sense is Texas. Unless the Royals get blown away by an offer, Greinke most likely will be an in-season trade. At this point, if someone really wanted him bad enough, they would have coughed up the prospects by now. -

Pat Gillick has been voted into the HOF by the veterans committee. Marvin Miller missed it by one vote. Steinbrenner's induction will have to wait, too. -

Looking for someone to review my album
The High Heat replied to lamradio's topic in Someone Else's Song
I did listen to Yesterday's Heroes over the holiday, and I am again impressed! I think this album is a little more spread out, like you were exploring more with the music; but, as you say, true to your sound. It's a nice contrast to your first album, yet complimentary. I think you did accomplish what you set out to do. Congratulations and thanks for the good tunes! I particularly like Sunshine, Dream Plane, and the combination of the last four songs at the end are outstanding! Makes me let the album roll over and play again! I plan on supporting the band by purchasing an official cd when it's -

I loved listening to Ron Santo on the radio. Won't be the same without him. R.I.P.

On a New York bound train a woman with a baby sat across the aisle from me when she boarded in Baltimore. About 20 minutes after leaving the station the baby began to fuss, drawing attention to himself. As the mother adjusted the child from one shoulder to the other I caught a good look at the young one. I swear to god it was the ugliest baby you ever could imagine! I wondered if he were even human. Growing uncomfortable, I shifted around and tried hard to stare at the monotony passing us by. Just then another passenger came stumbling into our car from the dining car and it was clear that the

A blonde hears on the news that 2 Brazilian men died in a plane crash. Getting upset, the blonde says, "Oh no! That's horrible! How many are in a brazilian?"

It looks like they're locked in a basement and are singing to get out.

Last I heard he was locked in someone's basement.

Evan Longoria signed a long-term contract his rookie year (short-changing himself in the process). It'll be 4 or 5 years before he hits free agency. I've been hearing Jeter wants the Yanks to afford him the same treatment A-Hole received when he opted out of his contract, which is $25MM per year. His agent is pushing that the Yanks captain, albeit older, has done more for the Yankees than Rodriguez had at that point. New York may have won one with A-Hole after signing a new deal, but his steroids admission soils his already shaky reputation. Derek Jeter, has been above board from day one and -
What are the chances the next Wilco album sucks?

Everything on the Internet is true. That's why they take the time to write it down. -
It's alright. Thanks. Glad you like the record. It is good.

Also: Giants re-sign Aubrey Huff for two years plus an option. Jeter and the Yanks will not go through the arbitration process to decide his contract, as they declined to offer it. If, for some bizarre reason, Jeter signs elsewhere, they will not even receive draft picks for their captain. -

That was my brother-in-law's favorite song. We played it at his funeral last year.

It's being widely reported that Terry Collins will be the next manager of the Mets. In his last two managerial posts he was good at getting his teams to second place and really, really pissing off his players to the point of mutiny. -
Appreciate it! BTW: I haven't forgotten about your new album - okay, temporarily I did - just haven't had time to sit with it and give a thorough listen. Sometimes I'll go months after acquiring a cd before actually listening to it. Strange, but true. Got a bit of drive on Thanksgiving day, so perhaps I'll pop it in for the ride.

I request one of these: Outtasite; I Got You; Can't Stand It; How to Fight Loneliness; ELT; Radio Cure; Pot Kettle Black; At Least That's What You Said; Theologians; One Wing. Radio Cure was the first one that came to me. Easy one, right!
