In one of the many Tweedy interviews posted on here, Tweedy said he doesn't make experimental music. He said he knows what experimental music is because he listens to it. Wilco, he said, explores musical possibilities, but does not experiment with music.

2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!

Santana actually had surgery to repair a tear in a capsule in bottom front of the shoulder. Mets are giving a ST/early season return, but that's from the Mets medical staff. Other reports are predicting a post-ASG return. Who knows, maybe they'll reap the benefits of receiving Milton Bradley in his free agent year! -
No matter what I want the next Wilco album to be sold exclusively out of the trunk of Jeff's car.

Johan Santana finished up his year with shoulder problems. Only a fool would take on that contract ("paging the Seattle Mariners"). -

Today's/Tomorrow's/(maybe) Tuesday's Wild Card scenarios. It took 162 games to set up the dominos. Sunday is the day they get knocked down. None of the first-round playoff matchups are set as the season hits its final day. Two spots in the National League are still under contention. Seedings across the board have not yet been determined. The result: the ultimate baseball Sunday funday. The winners of two divisions and two Wild Cards will be decided in Game No. 162 (or 163 or 164, more on that later). Only two clubs know where they will be headed when the playoffs start. Given all that mu -

Cito Gaston says Bautista is very coachable and has been more disciplined on pitch selection, spitting on pitches he used to be unable to lay off of. Gaston is also the first manager to give Bautista an everyday job without having to worry about just being a utility player anymore. He still plays both RF and 3B, but Bautista was assured a job after Rios was picked up by the White Sox last August. He responded with 10 homers in September '09. He's bounced around, mostly being used as a bench player because of his versatility. The Pirates picked him in around the 20th round back when there was s -

After 52 shots to left and left-center, 1 homer to dead center, Jose Bautista's 54th round tripper was his first opposite-field home run all season. That dude is playing golf. Last week Bautista hit a foul ball completely out of the Rogers Centre, which is damned hard to do. -
Will the next Wilco album be called (The Next) Wilco (Album)?

Wilco is working on their next album. The Autumn Defense is about to do a tour to promote their new album. Is this your bi-annual showcasing of your avatar? -

Jim Bouton wrote about players on greenies in his 1969 memoir. Players have been taking things for performance for decades. Also in 1969, SI did a story on the relationship of professional sports and steroids, predicting a heavy increase of usage in the future. Management, media, and fans played dumb for a long time - well, until a televised congressional hearing anyway. -

The High Heat replied to lamradio's topic in Someone Else's Song
Hell yeah! I'll listen to this tomorrow when I can get a chance to download it. I was listening to your other one a couple weeks ago and wanting more, and now I'll have that! Thanks, Matt! -

If someone wanted to meet a singer, hanging around the area where the tour bus is parked is probably a good way to go about it.

Now THIS is a wedding band!
The High Heat replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Someone Else's Song
At Wilco's show in Durham this past March a woman up front asked Jeff if they'd play at her wedding. Tweedy responded, "You'd have to pay us life-altering money to get Wilco to play at your wedding." -

There was enough plate available to slide across. The catcher ended up with a seperated shoulder. Just days before he knocked over the Cards backup catcher, hurting him. In that situation he could have just ran across the plate. Instead Morgan went out of his way to hit the catcher, missed the plate entirely, was then called out because Ivan Rodriguez grabbed him and pushed him back to home, telling Morgan to touch the plate. Morgan hadn't realized he didn't actually score. He's been knocking down catchers when he doesn't have to, so teammates back each other up. It's called players self-polic
