I've never really enjoyed the Flaming Lips that much. Some alright stuff on the first few albums, but this newer stuff is getting more or less unbearable to me. What I've heard of the six hour track was just way over the top. Sounds like some kind of habit is catching up with Wayne and he's getting way too self-indulgent. IMO obviously

In Boston Wilco came on around 9:10

^thats too bad, it was a great show. As you'd figure from the "Dawn of the Dan" title it was early stuff. Listening back right now I'm up to: Your Gold Teeth Black Friday Rikki Don't Lose that Number Hey 19 Time Out of Mind Parker's Band Any Major Dude Show Biz Kids I know they also did Boston Rag, Do it Again, Dirty Work, Peg, Kid Charlemagne, Old School, Reelin in the Years, Pearl of the Quarter, Bodhisattva, and Pretzel Logic, and Godwhacker. I think there were a few others but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

haha yeah, its too similar. But thanks for the answer. I never would've thought it was something like that. The suddenness of it made me think it was putting out some sort of frequency
-
like this kinda thing but without the bottom part? How does that cause feedback like that (am I getting into physics here? haha)

Most people (at least in touring bands) seem to DI the Nords from what I've seen. If you need an amp for small gigs or just for home practice the Roland keyboard amps are usually pretty good and its hard to go wrong with an old fender (especially if you're using a rhodes sound)

So, I've been wondering recently (and I forgot to ask him) how Nels does his nonstop noise/feedback stuff. He has something that looks kind of like a screwdriver that he presses against the strings (I noticed it at the beginning of Dawned on Me in Boston last week). At first I thought maybe it was an EBow type of thing, but that wouldn't make that type of noise without some further help. Anybody know?

I feel like I remmeber reading that nobody submitted video for the Boston show. Too bad. I would've if I had a camera
-
I think he means the Future Age section (not an actual tracker hosted on here) Also, last night is up, thanks to bob100 at etree. http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=548496 I'll put my recording up just for the sake of having two separate sources sometime late next week

^ I'm pretty sure he was talking about the solid sound recording because somebody asked for a recording of Standing O. Not about last night's show yet
-
I'm glad theres a curfew (at least in Boston) because of the lack of late night transportation. If the show went any later than 11:30 theres a good chance I'd have to take a cab all the way back to Waltham

^ thats too bad about Via Chicago. I don't think I could ever hear that song too many times. As a side note, this was number 5 for me and I still haven't gotten Misunderstood.... DAMNIT
-
yeah, the volume needed to be bumped up a little bit. I started out in a box in the back of the orchestra and it was fairly quiet. I ended up in row K though and up there the volume was pretty nice (obviously). I've had issues with the Wang being really quiet before though

Taping was very much allowed, not stealth at all, and no help needed getting in. I run a very simple small rig. Sony ECM-907 > Sony Hi-MD. Sound pretty good for what it is, but I'm sure the guy that was taping with a big looking rig with nice mics in row L will sound much better than mine

Opening was: Art of Almost I Might Black Moon IATTBYH One Wing Bull Black Nova At Least Thats What You Said One Sunday Morning thats all I remember right now

Another great show from Wilco. If I'm remembering correctly, there were like 6 or 7 new songs and they all sounded great as does my recording. The sound is pristine in that place!

That they are/did. Had an entire separate table for it
