  1. I saw and taped both Dublin shows last month. Both shows were over the 3 hour mark - 2 of the best shows I've ever seen.
  2. BTW if anyone knows a dude by the name of Wacker who was at this gig could you tell him that I lost his email address and give him a copy of my recording? He was standing beside me with his mates and they agreed to stay quite whilst I was taping. I took his email address after the show but my blackberry didn't save it. Thanks.
  3. On hunger city now: http://www.hungercity.org/details.php?id=17292
  4. Because I'd have to rename all the files to meet etree's requirements.
  5. Nels was slightly lost at times - he was joking about later in the gig waving his arounds like he was lost in the fog. It'll probably end up on owl & bear at some stage. I can put it on thetradersden or hunger city if you want. Are you banned from either of them? I'll have to finish seeding it on dime first though.
  6. My recording is on dimeadozen now. I've posted a link in the "In a future age" forum
  7. Nels used the owl as a plectrum before he threw it behind Mike's keys. WTF did someone chuck at the stage just after they arrived on stage?? It looked like a flying saucer. It hit the upright support on Nels' side.
  8. Was a damn good gig - they really rocked it. The short set saw to that. I taped but I haven't had a chance to listen back yet - crowd around me was pretty quiet but there was an awful lot of hipster douchebags who obviously thought their inane conversations were more important than listening to the mighty Wilco.
  9. I'm not happy with a festival date either but I'll take what I am given.
  10. there was 2 versions posted on cotapers.org. Which one did you get? I can't remember which one I have but I can check on my hd later.
  11. Red Rocks is pretty good but Coney Island gets my vote. There are about 3 versions of it floating around but I think the source I grabbed on ttd is the best of them. NYCTaper's version of the Wappinger Falls show is pretty damn good as well.
  12. Saw Neil twice on this tour and as Cortez already confirmedthere was a dude doing a painting on stage each night.
  13. Jeff was trying to make a link between every song and and Irish artist after the Thin Lizzy/Impossible Germany comment. After Jesus etc he said "that song was influenced by Jesus who of course lives in Dublin". The crowd cheered and he added "or as you call him Bono". That got a mixture of boos and cheers. Made me laugh though. Jeff went on to say something else but I can't remember exactly what.
  14. I heard you alright. I wasn't exactly hoarse but my voice was a bit knackered on Saturday after the 2 nights. It was my knees, hips and back that were suffering the most after the 2 gigs. I just can't stand/dance for 2.5 hours a night anymore. One of the drawbacks of getting old I suppose. I think Jeff was a bit surprised with the Cranberries reaction as well.
  15. That was you? I could hear you from the back of the venue. LOL! I heard Jeff tell you that he couldn't understand you. I thought the quip about Jesus/Bono at the end of Jesus, Etc was a classic.
  16. Damn fine show last night. Really looking forward to tonights show. I taped and it came out pretty good only with one major problem. When I got home I realised I had a loose mic cable so the right channel drops out quite a few times during the show. If anyone has the means and knowledge to repair this let me know. I've sorted the problem with the mic cable so hopefully tonights recording will be more successful.
  17. He was damn good. Really really damn good. I saw him around this time last year and it was even better than that. He opened with an angry (and I mean angry) version of Hey Hey, My My. The PA was distorting like hell. It just got better from there on in. Highlights for me were the extended Rockin' in the Free World and DBTR. Back on topic: The Magic Numbers are currently playing in my head.
  18. Woke up singing Rockin' in the Free World. Hardly surprising as I saw Neil on Sunday night. For some reason I have been singing Fall on me by REM. Haven't listened to that one in years.
  19. Babyteeth by Therapy? Was in the old Virgin Megastore in Dublin and the in house dj was playing it. Just blew me away. Ironically enough the store didn't have the album in stock the day I heard it. The dj was playing his own copy. I had to go to Freebird to buy it on vinyl. Didn't leave my turntable for about 2 months. Went on to see them play around Ireland about 20 times over the years.
  20. As a big Pogues fan I have to say that pic is disturbing.
  21. I have the Spanish show at home on my hd. If I have time tonight I'll convert it to mp3, up it to yousendit and post the link here.
  22. Now there is a coincidence. I would have went with that list as well but I would have put swrodfishtrombone at No. 1. First heard it at a party in the late 80s. Blew me away. I still laugh to this day at the line in Shore Leave "and shot billiards with a midget until the rain stopped". I was hooked from there on it. I was lucky enough to finally see Waits live in a circus big top in Dublin last year. One of the best shows I've even.
  23. Happy 68th Bob! He was in fine voice in Dublin 2 weeks ago. Long may it continue!
