  1. Whats the word in Cleveland about Matt LaPorta? Do they think he will be in the show in 2K9?
  2. Jules, who is your ballclub man? Just curious
  3. Ohio is stocked with HS talent, after Texas-CA-Florida its one of the top HS football states, Ohio State cant recruit every OH kid, I do remmeber Brewer though he was solid, didnt South Carolina beat Ohio State in the Outback bowl a few years back?
  4. Yankees are prepared to offer CC a six year-$150 million deal tomorrow and if they get him the Yanks will shift their energy to sigining Derek Lowe or AJ Burnett....thats just sick
  5. I have always enjoyed Betemit, he has never got a shot to play everyday, his career high in a season for at bats is only 373, Sox will also need a 3rd baseman cuz they said they will not be resigning Joe Crede, the Sox are still pretty high on Josh Fields but he hasnt developed as well as they thought he would
  6. Marquez is a decent prospect, he is blocked in NY with Joba Chamberlain, Ian Kennedy, and Phil Hughes but Kenny Williams should have been able to get more for Swisher
  7. White Sox are also shopping Dye and Bobby Jenks, I dont really understand that, they could win the AL next year if they are smart about it
  8. The Marlins do a really good job of running their team, as a Ranger fan Im very jealous, the Marlins contend when they have no business contending
  9. insurance, just in case Marmol isnt ready to close, Gregg isnt very good I agree, the Cubs have a decent pen though even without Gregg and Wood, Jose Ceda will probably close for the Marlins in 2010 Swisher can play 1st and play the OF, good guy to have and good in the clubhouse, good pick up for the Yanks
  10. I had no idea Lee was a Razorback....Nick Schmidt should be in the majors soon if healthy
  11. Oakland looked like a AAA lineup at times last year, Holliday will be a big shot in the arm, though his numbers will suffer, if he stays healthy he will have a 30 homer-90 RBI-.290 avg season, he also could have 25 steals if Oak wants to run a little
  12. I heard Escobar is not very popular in the clubhouse, I agree I wouldnt want to trade him either though, I think he can be an all star SS but when you have a chance to get an ace you jump at it, especially with Hudson being hurt and Smoltz not getting younger, I heard the final part of the Peavy trade is if they want Reyes or Morton
  13. Peavy would be going to ATL though and gets to pitch in a pitchers park, not quite as good of a pitchers park as SD plays in but a pitchers park nonetheless, he is a strikeout pitcher with great control I think he will do well in ATL, what would worry me about Peavy is his Groundball to flyball ratio
  14. even if Texas Tech beats OU (which I dont see them doing) they will have a tough time with Missouri in the Big 12 title game, they match up really well with Tech
  15. cant say I disagree there but he has had some bad luck which happens, Dusty Baker had a hand in ruining his arm as well, also his college coaches had him throw way too much
  16. and those guys do breakdown sometimes but look at Pedro Martinez, sure he had injury problems but he is similar size and put together a HOF career, there are a lot of guys who flame out who are 6'5 225 as well (Mark Prior)
  17. Im a HUGE college baseball fan so I really do think drafting college players is the way to go, sure there are a few guys here and then that are cant miss prospects who are HS kids (Griffey JR, Chipper Jones, and Joe Mauer come to mind) but if you are drafting a guy from the SEC, Pac 10, Big 12, or ACC they have played very good competition for a few years and I'd much rather have a guy who is 21 and is a year or two away from the show then a guy who is 18 and might need four or five years in the minors, especially drafting in the first round I have always thought you should draft someone in th
  18. I met a guy once named Bruce Batman....very jealous
  19. I dont think its much more complicated at all but agree to disagree, there is a reason some teams seem to always draft well and some dont, As a Ranger fan Im use to not drafting well and as a Red Sock fan you are use to drafting well...at least lately I'm hoping for Josh Hamilton for AL MVP but it will probably be Pedroia NL MVP is a tough call, maybe Ryan Bruan, heck CC deserves some love....Ryan Howard probably gets it though
  20. I dont have all the numbers in front of me I apologize, it's like I'm getting the ARod microscope treatment now
  21. Arod was much better in the clutch in Sea, I dont have the numbers in front of me but I'd be shocked if that was incorrect and would buy someone an adult bevy
