Great, thanks! No, definitely don't need voice, so that's fine. I'm afraid you may have lost me on the port-forwarding/static IP business, though! I'll give some of these programs a shot this weekend, see if I can figure out which is the most idiot-proof.

I'd like to be able to allow a group of people to view my screen live, on-line. At work, we use Microsoft Live Meeting for training, etc. I'm looking for something similar for personal use. Preferably free, within minimal software/plug-in installation, for use by PCs, Macs, whatever. I've found a couple of options (yugma and dimdim), and I'm wondering if anyone here has used these, or knows of another program that does this same thing. Thanks!

Yes! That one was on the other night. I loved him in that part. And he was good in the movie too, I was just having a hard time getting past that.

Both of these look good. I'm adding them to my list, thanks!

I couldn't take that one guy in Rachel Getting Married seriously, because he also played the psycho DA on Reno 911. After seeing The Times of Harvey Milk again last night, I've decided that Sean Penn totally overplayed it.

I'm sure there's a diagram of this online somewhere, but I'm not going to google it from work! Jen, I think you're sort of pulling air/smoke/whatever you're inhaling through the water. It's been a while since I was up close and personal with the equipment, so I'm having a hard time picturing the exact set-up.

Oh, I disagree. That just feels like such a wrong note at the end of that movie to me.

Could they maybe bring the Highlander in on this, too?

Jeff Tweedy February 7, 2009 - Letters To Santa Living Room Show
gogo replied to Edie's topic in After The Show
Ha! Sounds like a great time, everybody, and kudos on a fantastic set list. Really looking forward to hearing these new songs! -
That bottle-clinking guy has always scared the bejeezus out of me. Man, I love that movie.

These two paragraphs are pure class: But I think this is my favorite part: After a breakfast of beetroot, they were escorted back to the airport. Nice! Welfare, Lotti!

I can't even watch the rest of them, because I'm kind of stuck on #1.

I do think you'd find the answers to most of these questions if you searched the links, but just for the sake of wrapping this up: 1. Come back here in November/December, and watch for a thread about this to pop up. In past years, the auctions have been done at Second City, in Chicago, in early/mid December. The Second City show is usually referred to as the "Letters to Santa" fundraiser. 2. The shows are all in the Chicago area. Jeff does them on his time off from Wilco, not as part of a Wilco or solo tour. So, you really need someone in your group to be in the Chicago area, and wil

I don't think any of this is OK, no matter who is doing it. But, you do realize that you started the "Dems don't have to worry about paying taxes" thing, right?
-
If I had one I'd send it to you, but I didn't snag any, because we're Coke people.

And I thought this thread was going to be all about football! I'm sorry I avoided it for so long. Anyway... DC during the inauguration was lousy with pins with those new Pepsi ads on them ("HOPE" or "JOY" or whatever, with the Pepsi logo for the O). So they're definitely trying to tie "drink Pepsi" to "love Obama". Also, I like that e-trade baby.

Yeah, same here. There are some serious gaps in my knowledge base!

I'm afraid you're right. 10% unemployment in California.

Wow. Tough all the way around. Beyond tough. Best wishes for you, man.

The best tickets are not necessarily available during the pre-sales. Lots of times, people have reported here that the seats they got in the pre-sale were not as good as the seats that were available during the general sale. What the pre-sale does is get you tickets earlier, so you can relax about it. But if you want the best possible seats, no, you're not guaranteed that during the pre-sale.

[oversimplified rant]I think it's good news for the likes of him. The depression ended because of new government spending programs that put money back into the economy by creating jobs for the people on those bread lines (and, of course, because jobs were created due to the war). This time around, the money is going to things like bailing out the banks. But because we've got more safety nets than we had in the 1930s, the people won't be going nuts and doing things like organizing unions and joining the communist party.[/oversimplified rant]

Some industries are supposed to be recession/depression-proof, but my cousin works for a Clear Channel radio station, and they recently announced cuts of 4,000 people nationwide. Twenty people were cut from her office, which does admin/sales for several stations in the bay area. Luckily for her she's still employed, for now anyway.

I did not attend The Hills. Just too many good shows at Sketchfest! Jen, even they didn't seem all that convinced by the "sometime this year" timeframe. They said yes, everything's done, they've recorded commentaries, deleted scenes have been edited, etc., and basically, it's just sitting waiting for someone at MTV to say OK, let's do it. They seem to trace some of the delay back to the fact that they were way arrogant when they left MTV, and did not do so on the best possible terms. Kerri Kenney even mentioned that there's a coffee-table book out there, put out by MTV, specifically abo

I saw The State In Conversation With Janeane Garofalo yesterday. Lots of good history of the group, and some dish on who got pissed off at whom, and why, during the breaking-up process (basically, everyone who wasn't in Viva Variety, pissed off at everyone who was ). And the latest word is: the DVDs will be out this year.
