  1. Yep, this! Some of the unreleased stuff is the best stuff...48 Hours is a classic country record and still gets repeated spins at my place..

    Hello

Oh well, seeing as you ask www.myspace.com/billyvincent I'll shamelessly plug more once I'm settled in, thankyou
  3. Seconded! 'Twas the acoustic While My Guitar Gently Weeps on Anthology that turned my ears to more of George's stuff.
  4. So much I still have to get me hands on but from what I have, the Phoenix record really stands out, as does Ben Kweller. He's been hinting at a record like that for a while now and so glad to see it come off (to these ears at least) so well...even if Hurtin' You intro does sound like New Kid In Town Only just started listening to new Felice Brothers but it's already up there. Andrew Bird blows hot and cold for me. Don't know why, p'raps it depends on mood but I'm pleased to say at last listen it was hot. P'raps I just spun it a bit too much at the start I dunno... Grizzly Bear are a str
  5. Haha, yep! I've had to loan mine out to one of our singers / guitarists just to keep the missus happy...I think it was starting to get to her a bit!
  6. Currently got Born To Run racing round me brain at the moment having just seen a poster with 'Tramps Like Us' plastered across it in preparation for a tribute night tonight... Anyway, that aside, this morning I have been mostly listening to Okkervil River 'Don't Fall In Love With Everyone You See'...damn, I wish this computer was better so I could siplay the album cover, I love it.
  7. Love Kweller! Can't wait to see that once I get somewhere with a soundcard / speakers, ta!
  8. 2 wouldn't go amiss but with a baby 1 month away by then, the better half wouldn't be too gutted if she had to stay in on the sofa So, anyone got 1 spare at least? Please?!

  10. Like me! I heard it straight off and saw it as a doffing of the cap...I'm by no means an authortative voice on such matters but I do think you can tell when something's ripped off or is done as a nod... Listen to Sleepy Jackson's 'Good Dancers' and you'll get the same vibe. In fact, listen to their/his 'Lovers' album...full of nicks & nods. In a good way......to my ears at least!
  11. I see...was looking for that but this bleedin pc don't seem to like it! Still, hovered around there a bit and found the right place to click. Now the bloody thing just needs to let me upload pics! For the record, it was Josh Ritter Animal Years, now it new Felice Brothers

    Hello

First post...I hope I'm in the right neck of the woods? I've lurked around these parts for a while now but have been (frustratingly!) unable to join any conversations due to restrictions on work PC and limited time on the home PC. The work problem is now sorted [bar the wandering eyes ], home is a coupla months off.. It's been a while since I've posted in any kinda forum so not sure what the etiquette is around here, but I feel compelled to join in where time will allow - you look like a friendly and informative bunch. Already learned a few things from lurking, I hope I can bring summink
