  1. By my count we heard 9 Wilco songs of the 22 played. I am rooting for that number to be even lower tonight!
  2. Let’s not forget that this is the band that chose this.
  3. Brian, a child designed it with unicorn stickers. Hideous is a strong critique!
  4. Wasn’t planning on buying another copy, but here we are. Congrats to Clementine from another sticker enthusiast.
  5. Except the data point that they’ve billed shows “An Evening With” and have, indeed, done something else.
  6. I recall that the band used the "Evening With" designation for those marathon shows they did 10 ish years ago. Have they used it since? I wonder if that's what we're in for, or if it's to signify that there won't be an opener. Or perhaps none of the above!
  7. I agree with all of this and you've both put to words a lot of what I've been feeling about most Wilco records post- Star Wars. Jeff's proven what a prolific songwriter he is and I just wonder if too much of that writing is done in isolation. That is, by the time the band is involved they're not fleshing out a song anymore but filling in holes. And while I don't want Wilco to remake YHF or AGIB ad nauseam, I do miss the rewards of obsessive studio-tinkering. Those songs have a "layered" quality that I find absent on a lot of Jeff's recent output. But FWIW I real
  8. I thought Wilco communicated somewhere that after the few post-SSF dates, which have now passed, they would be done touring for 2024. I could be wrong. Also there’s been no indication of an AGIB anniversary reissue. For YHF we got some teasers. Outside of an April fools joke, there’s been nothing re AGIB.
  9. Not to veer too off topic, but were there any FotF-exclusive performances? Was the poster different from those on offer at the merch stand? We did FotF the first year it was available and didn’t feel like we got the most out of it and so we’ve not done it since. (Also hi, Brian, it’s Tyler. I don’t think most VCers know this as my forum handle 😉)
  10. My HSCS LP from SSF is badly scratched. I’m not hopeful but I did send Wilco HQ an inquiry about a replacement disc. My track record with pressings out of Smashed Plastic has been quite positive so for it to happen here with a disc I can’t easily replace is a bit of a bummer. (Never mind a $32 12”!)
  11. Looks like Waxahatchee has August/Sept dates, so Spencer is likely occupied for those. Kevin Morby has shows sporadically August through November, which I assume Liam will be playing. Unless Darren comes back to the Tweedy band, my assumption is any future shows would have to work around those tours. I sure would love some proper solo shows in fall/winter. Maybe Jeff will do another Brooklyn Made residency… 🤞
  12. On the one hand, it’s too bad that the band is ending its touring for 2024 as they seem to be on fire lately. Maybe not the variety night-to-night as one might hope for, but if you’re catching just one show - the set list above is about as good as you could hope for.
  13. BBop, are you posting from the Beacon?! A good show, though I was seated in front of what might’ve been the world’s nicest heckler: “So generous!” and “Tweedy Sweetie!”
  14. Interesting how AGIB-heavy these sets have been. Gearing up for Friday night's SSF show, perhaps? Safe travels, Setlist Jotter!

  16. Thanks for the recaps, Paul. Sounds like you got a great run of shows. Bummed to not have been there! Next time...
  17. really looks like a tour supporting the forthcoming album. i guess that they'll come east in the winter sometime.
  18. I tried searching various URLs related to their webshop with "/cousin" and couldn't find anything. A release feels imminent but it is fun finding these things pre-announcement!
  19. I have two tickets available. Best offer? Shoot me a PM. Trying to avoid listing these on stubhub!
  20. Venus Stopped The Train & Everlasting Everything. Geez! I'm sad to be missing these shows but am happy for you lucky attendees! Hope you're enjoying LA, Paul, and thanks as always for the recaps.
  21. Hilarious! So glad you got that hometown gig, Vince. And thanks for the recap. I'm really longing for a proper JT solo show!
  22. It really is crazy that the band shelved Kicking Television for so long given what a powerful and memorable late-set/encore song that it is. Even crazier perhaps is that it was left off of AGIB (& yet we get 21 tracks of Cruel Country... but don't get me started on that). Anyway, I appreciate the recaps, as always! I'm bummed to have missed the band on this tour and with no Wilco gigs on the calendar it's a nice consolation to follow along here.
  23. 100%. And they need to record outside of the Loft, otherwise we're in for more and more of the same. Which I think is partly ok, as I like the last few Wilco/JT albums, but there's no denying that their level of comfort is producing some ughh... redundancies? A personnel shakeup could be helpful.
  24. I did wonder if, in the spirit of the Cruel Country release, the band would come out Friday in their Nudie suits. I was browsing some of my old SSF photos and found this one of Glenn's shirt from a 2013 exhibit, which I believe is the same one he wore on Friday! Yee-haw!
