Within boundaries of the definition, I don't think anyone is born "dumb". Therefore if our kids "is gettin more dumb", maybe the people teaching them are gettin more dumb. The world in general has changed exponentially in the last 15-20 years yet is seems cirriculum has not. I honestly think some educators can't hold the attention of kids these days because they're jamming irrelevant shit down their throat 8 hours a day. Below is a simple equation: stupid mom + dont give a shit dad x scared educator/hours on Facebook = DUMB KID

I believe it was "what happened between you and Jay last year" in which Jeff replied..."seriously"

Unbelievable show, with a second to none atmosphere. As much as I love the premise of the first 30 fans getting their request makes you wonder what Jeff wanted to play but couldn't/didn't. This is far more and evening with Jeff Tweedy than a Jeff Tweedy concert, tons of interaction. Hopefully the guy yelling "Sunken Treasure" all night will be euthanized before next years show. Great night, drove five hours for a three hour show and would do it again next week. New song sounded great too!

Actually the only thing worse than BudLight, Coor's Light,or Miller Lite is someone who will only drink one of the three and cosiders the other two crap. These are the people that make me want to take blind taste test supplies with me to bars and parties.

Thank you, enjoy everyone -
I can remember walking 30 miles uphill both ways to concerts with burlap bags tied to our blistered feet only to have your stash and lighter confiscated during the intense pat where after you will are forced to buy $6.50 beers(one at a time) and leave with no encore.

Can someone confirm, my dvr does not list guests for that show?

Suprised no love for Minus 5 yet, the "Down with WIlco" stuff is in my opinion their best and what a coincidence Jeff's involved. As for the 1st Loose Fur cd, I jam it from begining to end, even the instumental. Tweedy is great but that cd had Jim O'Rourke's stamp all over it. There was actually a time when I was skipping chinese apple. Sorry

Do you think she gets along with his sisters? Sometimes that can be awkward, particularly if one of the parties is more than a hundred years older than the other. Even as a Kentuckian I feel a line may have been crossed here.

This is like picking your favorite child, I think this thread should be banned, it's making my head hurt and I dont think I'm alone. I have two beautiful kids but if I had to pick one it would probably be Via Chicago.

I guess two people of the same sex qualify as a duet because Bowie and Jagger are clearly both female.

The American Heritage Dictionary calls a seat "Something that may be sat on, as a chair" I call it the fifth category on your ticket telling you where to "stand". Gate, Section,Aisle,Row,"Seat". For the record this dictionary copyrights July 1989 so things may have changed.

To request personal space at the foot of a stage in a general admission rock concert is absurd. I was in about the third row and probably made incidental contact with everyone around me as they did with me and nobody was pissed. Its general admission, not if you get there before everyone else they have to stand behind you. Sounds like its time for some people to buy a "seat". Sorry if I offend but "floors" of rock concerts get hot and crowded.

WILCO - 10/18/09 UIC Pavillion, Chicago Night #1
sonicshoulder replied to Dude's topic in After The Show
Did anybody else think Pat absolutley killed it. He was all over the stage, tight as a drum and even threw in a "Townsend-esque" windmill or two. Their always tight(except for Nels) but I thought Pat was really on his game especially on the Being There stuff. Wonder how old he was and what he was listening to when that came out. All that being said they could put Glenn in the front of the stage under a spotlight and captivate for thousands for hours. Thought the crowd was pretty lame, never seen people give up on an encore that easy, I'm sure the UIC staff appreciated it. -
Are you sure that was'nt the theme song from "Benson"?

Impossible Germany in Remke's, a local grocery chain. Felt like I was in the video. Felt a sudden urge to juggle some cans of Northern beans and while smoking a cigar. Fortunately my sensible side took over and I just decided to lay a long passionate kiss on the 70 somethin deli lady, is that normal?

Havent been to chicago in a few years and bringing some freinds from Ky. who need to be introduced to Pequods. Is the downtown location the same one with the murals upstaris, heard rumors one burnt down? Deliberated on which night to see em in Chicago for playlist reasons, curious to see what night two's might bring.

Correcting slang on a rock band's web site means "douche" in American.
