  1. I have read some things that suggested he will be using them for some songs. I think that is really what I mean - that "80s" sound. It is just too sterile sounding for my taste. I am not even that crazy about Moving Pictures. But - they did want they wanted to do. I believe the set list has already been posted online, but I don't want to know, so I am going to try and avoid it. It would be nice if they played different songs every night, but they are just not that sort of band. I have to accept that I suppose.
  2. Taper's Section (June 28 to July 4, 2010)
  3. I think the last few albums (from what I have heard) were more guitar based. There were rumors that the last album was going to be a concept album "like the old days", but I knew that would not happen. I think it was Neil that said in one of his books, that bands use to tour so people would buy their records, and thus, they would make money from record sales. Now, they tour to make money. I think it also interesting to note that they don't have any tour sponsorship that I know of. So, they must be putting out quite a bit of money just to put the show on from night to night. I believe on thi
  4. I have never seen it. It looks like early reality show programming. I think some more albums will be covered on the bonus disc that comes with the dvd.
  5. The Alex scene is from this film: Come on Children (1973) I would like to have seen more Sebastian Bach and Les Claypool.
  6. Phish - The Rover - Camden, NJ - 6/24/2010
  7. Rush Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony I was glad to find out the documentary is on VH1 tonight, and not just VH1 Classic. That means I will get to watch it. I use to think that James Taylor and Disco ruined rock music, but New Wave, and 80s music may have ruined it more. Ha Ha.
  8. Wilco Archive Update – June 25 2010
  9. I don't see how it could be any different. (Is that how Beatlemania (play) was presented back in the 1970s? I never seen it either, so I don't know.)
  10. I don't see anything wrong with what they are doing. I actually like that song.
  11. It's going up this weekend sometime. I will put it up at bt.etree.org, where everyone can freely download the show, and enjoy it.
  12. Grateful Dead Live at Jai-Alai Fronton on 1974-06-23
  13. I think I recently saw photos of Martin and Olivia on one of the Beatles blogs I look at, so I looked it up. I thought it was going to be this year.
  14. They played here at the university this past year, but I did not see them. I have heard they are good. Scorsese eyes 2011 bow for George Harrison film
  15. It looks like there are some set lists and whatnot posted at the Jayhawks message board: First Ave Roll Call
  16. Taper's Section (June 21 to June 27, 2010)
  17. I wonder if any of the former band members might appear at some point doing this tour? The Allman Brothers invited Dickey to play some shows with them last spring, so I suppose anything is possible.
  18. I'd like to see one of those shows. There is a page for the upcoming album on Amazon, but no track list yet.
  19. He puts out a lot of stuff. It sounds pretty cool. The Black Crowes Oxford, Mississipi "Live from the Artists Den" concert taping at the Lyric Theatre will air on public television this summer 2010.
  20. The format has definitely changed. I don't think most people my age (mid-40s) would want to hear songs from the 50s, or 60s really, they would probably rather hear Huey Lewis and The News tunes. We have a so-called Classic Rock station here, and I think they play heavier stuff (Boston, AC/DC, etc.) I still think it depends on the time of day. I mean, it's not like disc jockeys really choose the songs anymore, it's all automatic by way of a computer system.
  21. Wilco Archive Update – June 18 2010
  22. It's nice to hear once again that they are done with overdubbing (for the time being). I have not picked up the new record yet. I plan to soon. The song at the end of that video sounds like Green Onions by Booker T. and The MG's. Or, at least the guitar part does. Lefsetz has a pretty good post about the new album.
